I'm in yum dependency hell using epel, rpmforge and rpmfusion repos to install vlc on 32 bit Centos 5.5. Anyone have a better idea? Doesn't really have to be vlc I just want to be able to play a dvd and Movie Player complains about missing plugins without saying what they are. I've been informed that rpmforge and epel do not play well together and that if I use both, epel should have the higher (lower numbered) priority. Alas I had it the other way around. rpmforge messed up my effort to get audacity. I no longer need audacity, but would like to fix the situation before some other problem crops up. Hi gang! I'm trying to update my videolan client (0.8.4a-4.el4.rf) to the latest 0.8.6 version. I see that Dag has a 0.8.6 for EL4 (I'm running Centos 4.4) but when I do "yum update videolan-client" it says there's nothing to update. When I remove the videolan client than do "yum install videolan-client" it insists on trying to install the 0.8.4 version:

Just tried to play a movie/DVD and Totem (what automatically popped up when I inserted the DVD) said it needed plug-ins... it didn't say which plug-ins. The website listed in the help page no longer exists. I have four of the gstreamer packages and libdvdcss installed, but I guess there's something more needed. Hi, I recently switched my main workstation running CentOS 7 from KDE to MATE. Migration went well, but now I have a couple issues. First things first. I have no sound in the Firefox browser.
