rpm -qa not displaying sources
Hi All,
I must have missed something here.
I installed my kernel source using rpm -ivh kernel-`uname -r`.el5.src.rpm
it installs perfectly, without error, but if I cd to the /usr/src/redhat folder, all I get is SOURCES and SPECS...
rpm -qa | grep kernel
doesn't return the kernel source rpm I installed only the kernel, devel and headers. And I can't find the actual kernel source

Anaconda-runtime and busybox-anaconda src rpms
Hi All,
does anyone here know where to get the source rpms for these two packages?
anaconda-runtime-11.1.2.168-1.el5.centos
busybox-anaconda-1.2.0-4.el5.centos
I have found the anaconda-11.1.2.168-1.el5.centos on
ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/enterprise/5Server/en/os/SRPMS
but not the others, is there a reason for this?

Need to rebuild installation CD
Hi All,
I would be lying if I said I am a newbie, but I am rusty so please bear with me.
I am looking for a how-to for Redhat or Centos to remake the installation CD.
First let me explain:
I have an installation disc supplied to me, with centos 5.2 which has kickstart, post and pre installation scripts which run.
The problem we have is that the CD does not support our CDROM (it8213). I have

PXE Linux boot to F12 automatically
HI There,
Firstly a bit about me.
I am a bit of an old school PXE user from the Kingdom of Gates. I have also spent years in the Linux playground.
While I have never been a programmer I am fairly competent in scripting languages, both on windows and Linux.
My occupation is "System Builder" I build operating System images and discs (not the OS itself). So I actually customize OS's.

roaming profile problem--file in use
Hi,
I'm having a problem with roaming profiles. I just built a new
machine and put it on the network. When I log on with a domain user,
I get an error when it tries to load the roaming profile. The error
is that certain file, which is part of the profile, can't be
overwritten because it is in use. Then it goes on to attempt to load
a local profile, which, of course, it can't find.

new puppet config - fileserver issue
Hi
I am a newbie to puppet. I have tried an initial config serving a
simple file & dir from the puppetmaster, but the client will not
mount. What obvious mistake am I making, I wonder? puppetmaster is a
DNS alias for osiris3.
Config files:
[root@osiris3 puppet]# cat fileserver.conf
[config]
path /data/puppet/manifests/files
allow *.pinnacle.co.uk
[root@osiris3 puppet]# cat puppet.conf

SAMBA v3.6.8 on Solaris 10 NOT working after Windows Server 2008 AD updated
Hello,
My Samba has been working well until I recently run Windows update for DC.
I got the error message below on my client (Windows 8.1 Enterprise
Evaluation OS) when accessing the Samba shares.
" *\\pinnacle** is not accessible. You might not have permission to use
this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find
out if you have access permissions.* "

Hi,
I am currently trying to switch from Splus to R and I would like to know
whether there is a way of transfering Splus objects stored on disk into the R
environment. In Splus I would do this using the function get, e.g., foo <-
get(foo, where="dirname") where dirname is the name of a directory containing
the Splus objects. In R, argument 'where' of function get appears to

I've tested it and LLVM is indeed 2x slower to compile,

new laptop: DVD or Blu-ray
Sorin, authoring a movie usually refers to actually creating a disc (e.g.
DVD/Blu-Ray with chapter marks and what not). It's the step that comes
after you've shot and edited the movie, see
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD_authoring. As far as I know K3B, Bombone
DVD and DeVede are capable of authoring DVDs. K3B (version dependent)
should even be able to create Blu-Ray discs so that they

Voicemail Volume Control Patch
Hello all,
This is my first attempt at posting a patch.
So if I screw this all up, my apologies and please
someone let me know without beating me up too bad.
To use this patch. You need to have an extra line
in /etc/asterisk/voicemail.conf that looks like
volgain=10.0
The 10.0 gets passed to sox which you will need installed
on your system. 10.0 is what works for me, anything over 1.0

new laptop: DVD or Blu-ray
[I guess were doing top-posting on this sub-thread. Okay, why fight it??]
Chris, I didn't know that either. In fact, Sorin answered the question
I was thinking of when I posted it. It's really counter-intuitive, even
misleading, that "authoring" means burning the DVD... or maybe it means
that in the context of DVDs, but means something else in the context of
film/video
