I put a new video card in a previously stable system, no other changes. Now WoW, Ventrilo, and City of Heroes all work for a little while then crash, sometimes with an error message, sometimes without. System: AMD Phenomx4, 5gig RAM Fedora core 10 x64, installed from disk, fully updated Wine 1.1.14, installed through yum New video card: Nvidia geforce 9800gt, 1gig memory Current video driver:

Newbie - missing cursor and unresponsive to input
Hello everyone, I have just discovered wine and have to try it, but I am running into problems that I can't google my way out of. I installed wine-1.1.12 using yum on my quad cpu (Nvidia 9500gt, usb qwerty keyboard and mouse) running fedora10 (2.6.27.12-170.2.5.fc10.x86_64) and as a test, I decided to use GTA2 (download). After the install, I copied

Thusnelda - Floating point exception in encoder_toplevel.c:209
Hi all, I've been hitting the odd floating point exception errors using the new alpha encoders. They're encoding a live stream so I can't reproduce the crash on demand, and it might only happen once every few days so it's been fun trying to get a backtrace. The crash happens in a fairly scary block of code, I wouldn't have a clue where to begin trying to fix it!

following Centos wiki headless install, but applying to FC10
I have successfully built an install CD following the instructions at: http://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/VncHeadlessInstall Now I am trying to do the same with FC10 and I am failing in two ways. I have tried to find a similar howto for even FC9, but have not found the right google magic. The first problem should be small. When I set isolinux.cfg to start with: prompt 1 timeout 0 I

oVirt on CentOS 5.3?
Hi, Has anyone been succesful in installing oVirt on CentOS 5.3? While it looks like a greate virtualization package, they only support FC10, and the installation instructions are for FC9. So, has anyone installed it on CentOS yet? If so, would you mind sharing with me whether it was a problematic installation, or not really? -- Kind Regards Rudi Ahlers CEO, SoftDux Hosting Web:

/etc/dovecot.conf says mkcert.sh is in doc/mkcert.sh but instead it is in /usr/libexec/dovecot/mkcert.sh
Perhaps this is an issue unique to installing from an RPM, but: % dovecot -n # 1.1.7: /etc/dovecot.conf # OS: Linux 2.6.27.7-134.fc10.i686 i686 Fedora release 10 (Cambridge) /etc/dovecot.conf says: ... ## ## SSL settings ## # IP or host address where to listen in for SSL connections. Funny stuff in SELinux -- /usr/lib/libGL.so.1.2.#prelink#.4GxqM1
Received this SELinux warning: Summary: SELinux is preventing ld-linux.so.2 from loading /usr/lib/libGL.so.1.2.#prelink#.4GxqM1 which requires text relocation. Detailed Description: The ld-linux.so.2 application attempted to load /usr/lib/libGL.so.1.2.#prelink#.4GxqM1 which requires text relocation. This is a potential security problem. No Spaces in Directory names
How can I make it so my users can not create folders with spaces in them? Or allow them to create such folders but rewrite them on the hardrive with a "_" or some other symbol. I have looked threw the wiki but couldn't find anything about folder name restrictions or folder name rewriting (rewrite the space to a "_"). Im having problems with some of the expire and compress

problem with kerberos (I think)
Hi all, I've got some problems to make work oVirt. I've installed a Fedora 10 VM the lightest possible (nothing checked, even based) and installed after some packages (wget, sudo, acpid,...) and updated the system. By the way, acpid should be a dependency of ovirt-installer because the installation fails if it's not available. I've then installed ovirt (ovirt-server-installer

permission and library dep issues after fedora upgrade
Hi Folks, I recently upgraded my fedora server from fc8 to fc10 and have trouble getting my samba server working again. I have 2 problems that are probably coherent to each other. First Problem: When I try to connect to my samba shares I get this error: '/share/path' does not exist or permission denied when connecting to [share name] Error was Keine Berechtigung The last two words

new kernel on Fedora 10 domU
Hi, I installed Fedora 10 as domU on CentOS 5.3. I need new 2.6.25.14 kernel under domU (in order to patch it for MPLS protocol). I followed advice on http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/Kernel.org_Linux_on_Xen, and compiled kernel with XEN options enabled under domU. I got all relevant packages in /boot and /lib/modules, but when I try to boot virtual machine I got this error: Error starting

Config problems with Tinc 1.0.9 under FC10
Hello All, Anybody got similar problems with the configuration of tinc 1.0.9 under FC10?: - the handling of the names of config files seems incorrect. When generating key-pairs the file name of the public-key gets extended with invisible characters. If I put an empty file with the correct name already there a new file gets created with an '?' appended. - handling of config files

SXCE 121 Kernel Panic while installing NetBSD 5.0.1 PVM DomU
Hi all! I am running SXCE 121 on a dual quad-core X2200M2 (64 bit of course). During an installation of a NetBSD 5.0.1 PVM domU, the entire machine crashed with a kernel panic. Here''s what I managed to salvage from the LOM console of the machine: Sep 2 18:55:19 glaurung genunix: /xpvd/xdb@41,51712 (xdb5) offline Sep 2 18:55:19 glaurung genunix: /xpvd/xdb@41,51728 (xdb6) offline

Miredo 1.1.5
I found a src.rpm for 1.1.5-1 for fc8 (not rh8!). I was able to rebuild it on my Centos build system. The rpms are identified as 1.1.5-1.i386.rpm, no el5 or other identification was placed in the files. I don't see how to control this when you rebuild from an existing src.rpm. Interestingly the fc8 designation was lost. I also rebuild it on my fc10 system. It worked, and the rpms have

mock rebuild of rsyslog dies
Hi All, I'm not sure where I should ask this, so I'll try here and the Fedora list. I'm using mock-0.6.13-1.el5_2.3 on a CentOS 5 box to rebuild i386 and x86_64 versions of rsyslog-3.21.10-2.fc10.src.rpm. But, the mock build always dies (for both archs) with the following error: No Package Found for librelp-devel Cannot find build req librelp-devel. Exiting. I can install that
