Build environment for totem-2.16.7-7.el5_6.1.src.rpm
This package has a build requirement 'gecko-devel' which is fulfilled by
'xulrunner-devel'. But in the process of building the browser plugins
two tools named 'xpidl' and 'xpt_link' are necessary. They werde once
part of 'gecko-devel' but are now replaced by other tools. I haven't
found any package that has these tools all the way back to 5.0.

can't "yum install mplayer" : no libmpcdec.so.3 available
Just upgraded to 5.4 yesterday morning. (Kudos to those who did that!)
That's probably irrelevant to this problem:
"yum install mplayer" fails. Here's what happens:

Manual update
Hi all,
I have a problem :).
On my CentOS workstation, I had glib2-2.4.7-1 installed.
This is the last version which is provided by the CentOS distribution
However, I need to install a software which requires an higher glib2
version so :
I took the source of glib2-2.8.4-1 on the gtk+ web site and creates the
rpm installation file with "chkinstall"
I obtained the

lightdm dependency
On a CentOS 7 system I'm trying to install lightdm.
Yum says it requires "glib2(x86-64) >= 2.50.3".
glib2 2.46 is installed but I have not found a
2.50 version. Have I overlooked it in some repo?

flex package marked as fc6 and no flex-devel?
Hi all,
I'm in the middle of setting up a build environment for OpenWRT and it looks
like the packages need flex.
Looking at the CentOS repositories, it looks as though the flex package is
tagged as fc6 - it also looks like there is no flex-devel package at all.
Does anyone know what the go is here?

Fedora Core 6 (FC6) and Asterisk-1.2.13 and Zaptel-1.2.10 compile problems
All,
I have upgraded by home machine from Fedora Core 5 (FC5) to the recent FC6 and am struggling to build Zaptel-1.2.10 and Asterisk-1.2.13 on the box... which is an Intep P4 2.8GHz HT processor box with 845 chipset, hence the kernel installed is 2.6.18-1.2798.fc6-i686 so we hve this:

rc15 in FC6
Hi,
just a note that FC6 now has the very latest of dovecot as an official
update. :)
It will upgrade the atrpms packages automatically to the official
vendor version, there is nothing you need to take care of.

how to upgrade gtk on centos 4.8
Hello,
My centos is 4.8 while I need gtk 2.8 or later. How to upgrade GTK?
I'm trying to upgrade manually based on RPMs on 5.X, there are too many decencies when upgrading libX.
Is there anybody can give some suggestion to enlighten me? Thanks.

TE212P on FC6 - stack overflow?
Hi all
did anyone of you experience an error like "do_irq: stack
overflow" in configuring a TE212P on Fedora core 6? The server
immediately hangs, I don't know if this can be related to hardware
configuration or kernel incompatibility... This problem arises when I
try to configure the channels with the usual command "ztcfg" and it is
strictly related to the presence of the
