Problems with HTB. Help!
Hello list.
I''ve configured a very simple script to slow down packets coming from a
particular IP Address. I''ve used IPTABLES to mark traffic coming from this
IP Address, but it does not appear to be working as expected. Let me first
describe my system as maybe what I''m doing is beyond what NETFILTER can do.
I have one machine that runs all my servers as

repository for mod_security
I want to add mod_security to my Apache server running CentOS 5.3 and am
trying to find a repository to get it from. I found it in EPEL, but
they have version 2.1.7, which is over a year old according to what I
found on the modsecurity.org website. Is there a repository which is
keeping this up to date? Or should I just build it from source?

request_oplock_break: no response received to oplock break request
Hello,
I've been running samba 2.0.7 for a couple years now on a DEC alpha with
Tru64 4.0D. I't pertty much a default smb.conf as far as oplocks & that
sort of stuff.
Anyway, the other day some users started having troubles with saving
ms-word files. The smbd processes have always been running as root. But
now the users with the problem own their smbd process. And they get

Drawing a circle on an existing graph.
I would like to draw a circle on a graph I am plotting in R and use
the current plot's coordinate system.
The most basic functionality I am looking for is the ability to plot a
circle on an already existing graph by simply providing the xy
coordinates for it's centre and the radius.
I am also looking for a way to obtain x,y values of a point (of a
circle) by specifying only the origin x,y

calls to SPA942 disconnect after 15 seconds (chan_sip.c set_destination: can't find address)
Am having a unique problem, calls received on my SPA942 seem to end after 15 seconds, but calls made from this device do not have this problem.
For this device (when receiving calls) I get periodic "chan_sip.c set_destination: can't find address for host"
I have set the "canreinvite=no" in the sip.conf. Does anyone have a sample entry from sip.conf for the Lynksys SPA 942

server change
Hi,
Recently we changed our samba server to a bigger and more powerful system ( centos 5.2 )
The config file and smbpasswd and other passwd and group files were copied to the new server and it then assumed the same identity as the old one in the dns and ip address.
It seems to have gone very well except we now seem to have a problem.
There are windows XP workstations that were domain joined to the

Accessing member server prompts for credentials
Hi,
I'm trying to join a server as an AD member but it isn't working.
I do:
kinit ADMINISTRATOR@DOMAIN1.CO.UK
which prompts for the password and displays nothing else. Then I do:
net ads join -U Administrator%XXXXX
which returns:
Using short domain name -- DOMAIN1
Joined 'SERVER1' to realm 'DOMAIN1.CO.UK'
So all looks OK, but when I try to browse the shares on

ActionController majic gone bad
Overriding method missing in ActionController destroys magic even when
passed back
ie.
def method_missing(method, *args)
if some_condition
do_something
else
#let rails handle it normally
super(method,args)
end
end
if I don''t over ride method missing then i can call a view without an
action
with the override i get a method missing error.

smbmount: mount() syscall gone bad ?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
I have seen a weird problem in one of my clients. The reported that
when issuing a smbmount command (both client and server are CentOS 4.4),
it would take up to 30 second for the mount to complete.
To make a long history short, by using strace and the source, I noticed
smbmnt is first calling mount() using ascii options for *data. Then
that would

yum update gone wild? - new base?
I am being hit on a number of my systems with yum update reporting 270+
rpms to update, and MOST are coming from the base repo. I checked a few
out, and yes, they are of a higher release.
I don't recall ever seeing the base repo change; it is almost like it is
picking up the the 6.4 base repo instead.
Anyone else seeing this. I JUST did an install from my local repo copy
of the 6.3

LVM, usb drives, Active Directory
I have a client with a handful of USB drives connected to a CentOS
box. I am charged with binding the USB drives together into a single
LVM for a cheap storage data pool (10 x 1 TB usb drives = 10 TB cheap
storage in a single mount point).
The next fun piece is how to incorporate that storage space into an
existing Active Directory structure to apply AD acls for limited
access.
I'd rather

images gone after yum update
Hi,
yesterday I upgraded a centos 4.6 box via yum and now it seems that certain
pages, especially swf files stopped working.
Does anyone know if ImageMagick got broken on x64? I don't see any other
package wich could have caused this problem.
kind regards,
Geert
PS Below is the output of my yum update

Inotify or equivalent
I installed inotify and incrond to watch a directory and set the
job as '/mnt/dir IN_ATTRIB chmod 0660 $@/$#' which worked very well
except that as expected, IN_ATTRIB is to broad of a watch class as it
caused an enormous amount of contention with the filemonitor and/or
db server and the client side app was less than happy. Not to mention
top showed it working away like mad...

Upgrade samba from 3.28 to 3.29 to fix winbind issue.
How do you upgrade samba from 3.0.28 to 3.0.29 to fix winbind issue? My
OS is CentOS 4.5. I haven't been able to find a RPM above 3.0.28. for
samba. I backed all of the files that I needed and removed the RPM's for
3.28 and installed 3.0.33 doing a ./configure, make, make install and
was hoping to reconfigure all the data but the smb service was not where
to be found I even rebooted the

Harddisk gone bad
Hi all,
I know this is the EXT3 list, and my problem is with an EXT2 filesys, but I cannot seem to find a more suitable list on this server, and I have seen a lot of knowledge go by on this list and in the archives, so I thought I'd give it a try anyway...
Here goes nothing:
I am in a terrible problem: My data disk on my Linux server has gone bad, with approx 18 GB of data on it, and I
