Sync of csgfs and current centos 4 updates
Hi list, I've been trying to update my csgfs stuff to 4.7 this week
but I notice that current csgfs is built against kernel-2.6.9-78.0.1
and is required as a dependence, right now current kernel is
2.6.9-78.0.5 it would be great if csgfs can be rebuilt or updated to
this, so dependences works ok???

Local node indexes in a cluster backend with GFS2
Hi, all
this days I'm testing a dovecot setup using lvs, director and a cluster
email backend with two nodes using rhel5 and gfs2. In the two nodes of the
email backend I configured mail location this way:
mail_location =
sdbox:/var/vmail/%d/%3n/%n/sdbox:INDEX=/var/indexes/%d/%3n/%n
/var/vmail is shared clustered filesystem with GFS2 shared by node1 and
node2
/var/indexes is a local

Dovecot imaptest on RHEL4/GFS1, RHEL6/GFS2, NFS and local storage results
We have done some benchmarking tests using dovecot 2.0.12 to find the best
shared filesystem for hosting many users, here I share with you the results,
notice the bad perfomance of all the shared filesystems against the local
storage.
Is there any specific optimization/tunning on dovecot for use GFS2 on
rhel6??, we have configured the director to make the user mailbox persistent
in a node, we will

Is Dovecot Director stable for production??
Today I will try Dovecot Director for a setup using a Cluster Backend with
GFS2 on rhel5, my question is if is Director stable for use in production
for large sites, I know is mainly designed for NFS but I believe it will do
the job also for a cluster filesystem like GFS2 and should solve the mail
persistence problem with a node and locking issues.
I plan to add a layer behind a load balancer to

run the script at the load balancer, if you have some let me know..

mmap in GFS2 on rhel 6.1
Hello list, we continue our tests using Dovecot on a RHEL 6.1 Cluster
Backend with GFS2, also we are using dovecot as a Director for user node
persistence, everything was ok until we started stress testing the solution
with imaptest, we had many deadlocks, cluster filesystems corruptions and
hangs, specially in index filesystem, we have configured the backend as if
they were on a NFS like setup

Dovecot ldap connection reconnecting after inactivity
Hi people, I have a setup configured using ldap, I have noticed that after a
period of user inactivity if a client open connections to dovecot first
attemps fails with this:

ldap(user at xxx.xx.xx,172.29.13.26):
Connection appears to be hanging, reconnecting
After the connections to ldap has been restablished everything starts
working ok, is this a

How to define ldap connection idle
I'm having a problem with dovecot ldap connection when ldap server is in
another firewall zone, firewall kills the ldap connection after a
determined period of inactivity, this is good from the firewall point of
view but is bad for dovecot because it never knows the connections has been
dropped, this creates longs timeouts in dovecot and finally it reconnects,
meanwhile many users fails to

Proxy IMAP/POP/ManageSieve/SMTP in a large cluster enviroment
Hi to all in the list, we are trying to do some tests lab for a large scale
mail system having this requirements:
- Scale to maybe 1million users(Only for testing).
- Server side filters.
- User quotas.
- High concurrency.
- High performance and High Availability.
We plan to test this using RHEL5 and maybe RHEL6.
As a storage we are going to use an HP EVA 8400 FC(8 GB/s)

Updates for csgfs on CentOS4
Hi all,
I am trying to install csgfs on two CentOS hosts. I have installed latest
kernel from updates repository. But when I try to install csgfs, yum returns me

Update csgfs without breaking things
Now that the csgfs repo has been updated to support the new kernel, I'm
looking at doing updates again. I just want to do it without breaking
things (if possible). I can handle doing a bit of trial and error, but I
figure that if you guys can point out any obvious pitfalls, that can save me
quite a bit of time.
I'm looking at doing the following install/update:

csgfs repo problem
I just took a brand new CentOS 4.2 x86_64 install, updated all of the
base packages with yum, and then added the csgfs repo and attempted to
install those packages.
When I do the installation, I have a problem with one package:
# yum install perl-Net-Telnet

CSGFS repository not up-to-date?
Let me QUICKLY say I'm not complaining here, but is the csgfs repository not being actively maintained? The Red Hat ftp site has
much newer versions available than what is currently in the CentOS csgfs repo, at least for the kernel modules. Should I just go
ahead and rebuild them from the SRPMs myself, or is this an unintended condition? This has been holding me up from upgrading to the

Will centos Team drop support for CSGFS 4??
Hi all, I would like to ask if the centos team will drop support for
the CSGFS version 4, it's been 3 months since csgfs does not sync
updates with rh, but rh has posted all their updates to their cs gfs
version 4 public available. If help is needed to rebuild this updates
just let it know.
Best regards

rpms are 10 months old unless I'm looking at the wrong mirror.

Kernel update and csgfs
My apologies if this is a stupid question, but I'm not familiar with
how kernel updates and kernel modules interact.
I see that there are some kernel updates available via yum:

csgfs update for 4.5
Anybody here know when there is going to be an update for the cluster
packages for the 2.6.9-55.0.2 kernel that was released in June? The
packages available from the repo are compiled against 2.6.8-55.
I want to update my GFS cluster to CentOS 4.5, but I don't want to do
such a major upgrade and leave out the kernel packages.

csgfs packages
Hi,
is there anything happening to the csgfs repo ? The packages in there
are extremely old. At least for CentOS 4.5 Kernels there should be an
update.
I would like to help package them if possible. I use them in production
and need up to date packages so I can update to 4.5.
There's already a bug report (#0002017):
