I installed 5.2 x86_64 on a new hp dv7z laptop using noprobe on the install line. After rebooting the rtl8169 causes the kernel to dump. Is there a parameter I can pass to it (somehow) to avoid the kernel dump??? Thanks, Jerry

Hello All. I have a dell optiplex 320 that I can install centos5 on using pci=nomsi. That seems to be the only way. After the install grub loads but thats about as far as it gets. It looks like a BIOS bug to me, but I just don't know. I left it sit for a few minutes and it just had the echoed boot params on the screen. Hi all, I just upgraded my Debian/Etch with Xen3.3 machine to Debian/Squeeze Xen4.0 and now have problems with starting the Dom0 kernel. I always get the error message: Kernel panic not syncing: the kernel parameter noapic is incompatible with xen. I am booting 5.3 on an a770 biostar motherboard THe machine boots, I get the prompt from the DVD I hit return and the screen says kernel alive but it never gets past that. I tried booting again with noprobe on the command line same thing. I tried booting again with noprobe and noapic nolapic and same thing. Any thoughts on how to get past the halting?? Thanks, Jerry

Hi, I am trying to boot Xen on top of a simulator. I am having problems with the APIC module in my simulator, not related to Xen. So, I want to boot Xen without APIC support.
