OT: Setting a CentOS to gateway a private IP address
This is mildly off topic since it has more to do with TCP/IP networking than with CentOS per se. However, at the risk of ruffling a few feathers I would like some advice on how to resolve the following routing problem: Given: dual homed host running CentOS-5.2 with eth0 = 2xx.yyy.zzz.23 eth1 = 192.168.219.1 and a Cisco gateway at 2xx.1xx.y7y.1 with the following networks: interface

PMTU = 1518 over local network at 1500 MTU
Hi all, I have two nodes, connected to a switch, using Tinc 1.1 from git. They connect each other with sptps, and to other nodes in the Internet with old protocol because they have Tinc 1.0. There is no problem with remote nodes, but between my 2 local nodes, they see 1518 PMTU. But local network is 1500 MTU !!! So nodes can ping each other but larger data does not go. test1=sllm1 test2=sllm2

unable to get domain list of KVM guests from libvirt as non-root user
I have a python script that monitors the guest VMs on a servers running Xen, but the script doesn't work properly on a server I just built with KVM. The script runs as a non-root user (same on all servers) and simply gathers some details on the status and names of the domains running on the host. The Xen and KVM servers are running CentOS 5.4 x86_64 and are using the same version of

RIPd not announcing routes (CentOS 5.4)
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi list, yesterday I sent this eMail to quagga mailing list, however I didn't receive an answer yet. Unfortunately, I really need this stuff running or have to switch to another strategy achieving the goals. Maybe one of you has some experience on this topic and can shed some light on it -- I really appreciate it. -

Questions regarding hostdev scsi
Hi! I'm oVirt developer responsible for most of 'hostdev' support. While working on SCSI passthrough (that is hostdev type='scsi'), I've encountered few issues I'm not sure how to solve somewhat effectively and nicely. Just a note - oVirt by default disables 'dynamic_ownership', meaning we have to handle endpoint ownership/labeling ourselves. This is not

While running CentOS 6.4 I see the multicast packages arriving at the eth0 and the GRE tunnel interface. While running under CentOs 6.5 I can see the multicast packages arriving at the eth0 but not on the GRE

Help with ssh -A, screen, ssh -a, detach, logout
Hi, I've noticed some ssh behaviour that I wish didn't happen. I was wondering if someone can explain how I can stop it from happening, or explain why it's unavoidable. If I ssh-with-agent-forwarding from one host to a second host, and on the second host use something like nohup/screen/tmux/daemon, and from within that new process session, start a long-running command via
