Yum + priorities plugin question
Hello all!
I've recently started using the priorities plugin as part of my best
practices. It's very effective, and prevents nasty things from
happening (like atrpms upgrading python and disabling yum.)
I'm wondering if there's a simple and elegant way to allow
package-name-based exclusions. For example: For my mysql cluster, I'd
prefer to have the latest mysql and

Handsfree Speakerphone
Hi,
What is out there in terms of SIP enabled handsfree speakerphones?
Looking for something that works well and also fits a low budget.
I am used to using a Cisco 7940. It is a great phone but a bit expensive.
Thought about the Polycom SoundPoint 300 until I realized that it does not
include speakerphone functionality.
Thanks,
Adi

PHP and PHP53
Greetings,
We have someone requesting the use of Wordpress 3.3.1. It requires PHP 5.2
minimum.
Currently, our machine is running CentOS 5.7.
What are the issues/concerns in upgrading from PHP 5.1 (the current PHP
rpms) to PHP53?
Much thanks,

SugarCRM pro and PHP 5.2
We're looking at SugarCRM 5, but they strongly recommend PHP 5.2.4.
Looking around I see that a few individuals are maintaining repos for
CentOS, but I'd prefer to get it from one of the larger repositories.
Anyone out there using http://www.jasonlitka.com/yum-repository/ ?
Any idea when PHP 5.2x will be available?

I have been working on the following code but keep getting an err message. My
current thinking is that the problem is on the indexing but do not know how
to fix it. Any help please?

ungulate <-

Have you tried a 'yum clean all' ? That usually resolves this sort of
issue for me.

mysqld taking up 100% cpu
Every now and then, mysqld (5.0.22) jumps to 95%+ cpu usage and stays
there. Seems to be a common issue, as far as google can tell, but
details are alarmingly vague, and some people seem to suggest that
it''s a bad query causing it. How do I go about determining if it''s
something my application is doing?

mysqld not starting on reboot
Hi;
I installed mysql using yum, so I have an /etc/init.d/mysqld file. For some
reason, however, mysqld doesn't boot on reboot of the machine. Please
advise.
TIA,
Victor

mysql secure installation and multi mysqld
If you adjust the my.cnf file to make separate instances of mysql.....
How would you go through the mysql secure installation? Is is possible
or must it all be done manually
for each one?
is it possible to make each one of those instances a replicate/slave of
a different master
(thus a backup mysql server in a way?)
working on this now, but having issues getting it to work.

Tuning MySQL - what's the best place for mysqld parameters?

for a Wordpress website I have installed
mysql-server-5.1.69-1.el6_4.x86_64 and

What's the point of 'service mysqld reload'?
Hi,
I've been looking at /etc/init.d/mysql init script and saw that 'reload' spits
out just 'exit 3' and doesn't actually do anything else.
I'm talking here about stock MySQL on CentOS 6.5.
What's the reason to do this? It seems quite misleading!

Martin
