megatec driver and usb-to-serial converters
Hi all,
Currently, the "megatec" driver only supports UPSes which have a
serial (RS232) interface.
However, I'm under the impression that most of the models that speak
the megatec protocol, and have an USB interface, just have a standard
serial-to-USB converter inside. This being the case, there should be a
"/dev/ttyUSBx" device which the megatec driver could use just as

I have several discontinued Sierra Wireless MP775 mobile GSM/EDGE radio
modems. These devices were originally installed in emergency vehicles to
provide data and voice access along with GPS reporting. They have external
RF connections for GSM/EDGE and GPS signals. The baseband side includes four

USB Wireless device for CentOS?
I need to get a wireless device for an upcoming trip (USB is
preferable to PCMCIA for a long list of reasons) and I'm wondering if
anyone has any experience with or recommendations for such items,
particularly which ones work with Linux/CentOS. Right now I'm
debating between a reasonably cheap Belkin 54G and a slightly more
expensive Netgear 54G.
Thanks.

Advice Partner PRPC650 - no serial device
Good day!
I'm struggling to connect by Advice Partner PRPC650 UPS to Nut. The
UPS uses USB for communication and the current problem is that serial
device (/dev/ttyUSB*) is not detected. OS is Debian Lenny (same
behavior on Ubuntu Hardy).
Did anyone have any success with this UPS? Here is what my dmesg and
udevmonitor say (on Debian):
dmesg:

Dear NUT users/developers,
I'm having trouble while trying to configure the UPS APC BZ2200BI-BR[1] in NUT,
which despite having a USB cable it apparently communicates using the serial
protocol.
The relevant output of 'lsusb' is:

The device is registered as /dev/ttyACM0 and uses the kernel module 'cdc_acm'

Hi Charles!
Thanks a lot for your response.
Now I figure why the isbmex driver was not working. On the other hand I've
tried to run the command suggested. But no success.
I got this information when running the dmesg command after running the
modprobe
