I've recently switched to using spamassassin via a sendmail milter, rather than using procmail to invoke it. This means that I get a number of messages appearing in my maillog, and then being reported by logwatch as unmatched entries. Logwatch file shows last upgrade to the code was 2007. The unmatched entries are killing me in the reports. I figure there must be a newer utility centos has in the repo but I cannot find one. Is logwatch the only one that is included? thanks

My nightly logwatch report had a never before seen section last night, "barracuda spam firewall". I have not problem with the emails it noted as being rejected. But I've always thought of "barracuda" as a commercial product. I have neither configured nor enabled any barracuda software and "yum list '*barrac*'" comes up empty. What is this? Jon -- Jon

Hello I am trying to get logwatch working on CentOS 8. System is fully updated. Usually install minimal version and then add only necessary with yum. On CentOS 7: install logwatch and get daily logwatch report on mail. On CentOS 8: install logwatch but no way to get mail. Am I doing something wrong? Or miss something? Thanks in advance Blaz

Hi All, I need to be able to make sense from my shorewall logs. I have installed logwatch and it is mailing me reports but the level of detail is just not there. I have set the detail variable to High=10 but I get entries only from the DNS service about denied updates. What am I getting wrong? Hi all, prior to 5.4 upgrade, my two DNS servers would only get 'connection refused resolving .....' on rare infrequent occasions (once or twice a month) after upgrade to 5.4 I get 500+ per day. Hello, Thanks to some nice people on here and other forums I have pretty much finalized my whole mail system on centos 6.x. With all the checks, greylisting, dev/null of any 8+ spam level SA, I still get a few mails. It seems like everytime I enable a new protectant, the mail stops spamming for a few hours...then the spammers decide I am worthy of using better methods against me..and more
