Extracting files from OVA is bad
Hi, recently we (oVirt) have started discussing whether the way virt-v2v handles import from OVA files is good. And I would be interested in ideas how it can be improved. It is likely somebody already gave some thought to this problem. TL;DR: Extracting the OVA before import is a problem for large VMs (in sizes of TBs). Can we change something to prevent the extraction and work directly over

[PATCH]: ioctl wrappers for EXT3_IOC_GROUP_{EXTEND,ADD}
Hi Andreas, I need the following patch to make ext3 online resizing work with linux 2.6.11.6 on amd64 with a 32bit userland. Do the changes look o.k.? I converted everything to ext3 since it should implement the calls for ext2 in a compatible way and we only have to include ext3 headers then. The COMPATIBLE_IOCTL() should probably into compat_ioctl.h, I'll send an updated version in case

rsyncing from a compressed tarball.
Mike, As it stands right now, we use xz for our compression, so if rsync had a similar option for xz that would probably be an improvement. However, I think being able to decompress directly to the remote system would save more; elsewise I don't see how I'm going to be able to avoid untarring and uncompressing the whole xz file on the other end. thanks much, ed On Tue, Dec 6, 2016 at

Newer versoin of tar 1.26 on Centos 7
I have no idea what 'Yocto' is, but CentOS 7 includes two other tar utilities: 'bsdtar' and 'star' Maybe one of those will give you what you need? R 2.11.1 is released
I've rolled up R-2.11.1.tar.gz a short while ago. This is an update release, which fixes a number of mostly minor issues. The most annoying one was probably the problem with format.POSIXlt causing C stack overflow on long date vectors. See the full list of changes below. You can get it from http://cran.r-project.org/src/base/R-2/R-2.11.1.tar.gz or wait for it to be mirrored at a CRAN site
