Yep, Dell's are good. And I do *not* want to buy from HP, because their support is nothing like good. And once you run out the warranty, they don't want to even let you

Installation question?
I've been doing a CentOS 7.6.1810 net-install since last night. The machine seems ok but has been stuck with "performing post-installation setup tasks" for hours. This is an old Dell T5400 box, so it isn't blazing fast but ... Is there a way to pull up its skirt (so to speak) and check/monitor the installation activity while installing it? Having already started the

[LLVMdev] PDB debug info
Hi people, Unlike GCC, LLVM has seemingly good support for interoperability with MSVC built windows code. This makes LLVM particularly attractive to my company/project, but it seems LLVM doesn't support writing PDB debug into into it's COFF output. It seems Win64 exception handling has been added recently, which perhaps makes PDB the only outstanding feature for effective use with

DO NOT buy the newer HPE DL20 gen9 or ML10 gen9 servers then (especially if using CentOS 6.x) I don't use hardware raid (mdadm for the win!) so cannot speak to that. DL20, bought it on a stock 'B' sale. Great price. Works well on Windows. HPE doesn't sell hard drive trays, etc. You pretty much have to buy their equipment. You CAN get 3rd party parts (drive trays, etc.) but will

Trunk with Polocom Video Conferencing Unit
I was wondering if anyone can help me with a problem we have at one of our sites. We have setup a Asterisk Trunk to a Avaya PBX, ie ... Avaya <-> Asterisk (1.2.30) <-> External ISDN Network BUT They also have a Polycom VSX 7000 that with some sort of BRI converters that plugs into the Avaya. The Trunk is working well except for Video Conference Calls. The Polocom can receive

ajaxy select boxes and existing records
I''ve just made my first form using select boxes that update each other via observe_field. It works really well for the creation of record and it''s making the form a whole lot nicer to use. The problem is editing records, the first select box is not part of the model but is used to populate the second select, which is a required attribute of the model. When the edit form is

best, safest and easiest way to provide remote access to files on linux machine
dear list. this question is rather related to samba, although not exclusively. I consider it related enough to ask here, please apologise if you don't. we are in the process of setting up a samba domain at my company. a goal is to replace our current nt4 servers. another goal is to provide an easy way to access the documents on the lan (and peoples home directories) from 'outside'

Importing huge XML-Files
Dear all, for my diploma thesis I have to import huge XML-Files into R for statistical processing - huge means a size about 33 MB. I'm using the XML-Package version 1.9 As far as reading the complete file into R via xmlTreeParse doesn't work or is too slow, I'm trying to use xmlEventParse but I got completely stuck. I have many different type of nodes + <configuration>

can't delete recursive DNS entry
Due to a mistake I created a subdomain with the name of the domain itself. In my case the domain is briesebaer.intern and I created the subdomain briesebaer.intern. Using DNS RSAT Tool I see under briesebaer.intern the subdomain intern and then a recurrence of the whole domain. That means: under intern there is briesebaer and all of the dns query beneath. The query shows the Name=intern

Fwd: Select output section for a function based on a subtarget feature
Hello, I'm implementing a port of LLVM for PowerPC VLE. It's a compressed instruction set similar to mips16 and ARM Thumb. Instruction encoding (VLE/non-vle) is selected for a given memory region by an attribute in a memory area descriptor. Targets supporting this that I know of are all bare-metal (so powerpc-none-elf). I'm trying to implement ELF support right now. VLE ELF files
