Huge number
Hi,
I'm trying to calculate p-value to findout definitely expressed genes
compare A to B situation.
I got this data(this is a part of data) from whole organism , and each
number means each expression values (that means, we could think 'a' gene
is 13 in A situation, and it turns 30 in B situation)
To findout probability, I'm going to use Audic - Claverie Method. ( The

Include/Exclude problems
hi,
I am trying to rsync a very large filesystem which is about 3TB, but
naturally I want to exclude a lot of things. However, I am really
struggling with excluding directories.

TARGET=/backup/december/2008 #Notice there is no trailing slash
I want to exclude

RFC 8305 Happy Eyeballs in OpenSSH
Hello,
I use hosts that are dual stack configured (IPv4 and IPv6) and it
happens that connectivity through one or the other is broken and
timeouts. In these case connection to the SSH server can take quite some
time as ssh waits for the first address to timeout before trying the
next.
So I gave a stab at implementing RFC 8305. This patch implements part of
it in sshconnect.c.

ntop from rpmforge
I don't know why I haven't signed up for this list before since we use
CentOS all over the place. The list is very useful and it is good for
me to participate and "give back" to the community.
Anywho, I wanted to post this response to a thread that was created back
in November 2008 about the ntop daemon failing to start. I'm currently
setting up ntop as a NetFlow &

Best option for my home file server?
I was recently evaluating much the same question but with out only a
single pool and sizing my disks equally.
I only need about 500GB of usable space and so I was considering the
value of 4x 250GB SATA Drives versus 5x 160GB SATA drives.
I had intended to use an AMS 5 disk in 3 5.25" bay hot-swap backplane.

Confused about zfs recv -d, apparently
First, it fails because the destination directory doesn''t exist. Then it
fails because it DOES exist. I really expected one of those to work. So,
what am I confused about now? (Running 2008.11)
# zpool import -R /backups/bup-ruin bup-ruin
# zfs send -R "zp1 at bup-20090222-054457UTC" | zfs receive -dv
bup-ruin/fsfs/zp1"

Need help in analyzing ntop data
Hi,
I want to do some analysis of NTOP data. Currently I have installed
NTOP on Centos 5.1 and I am able to see some network data being
graphed. But there is no documentation given whether NTOP is showing
Network Throughput in MBytes or MBits for ex I am getting
Throughput Min: 163.7k , Max: 3.0 M and Last 859.4k and there are
some options like anomalia, upper, lower and trend (30min).

ZFS Newbie question
I?ve spend a few hours reading through the forums and wiki and honestly my head is spinning. I have been trying to study up on either buying or building a box that would allow me to add drives of varying sizes/speeds/brands (adding more later etc) and still be able to use the full space of drives (minus parity? [not sure if I got the terminology right]) with redundancy. I have found the ?all in

patch to support hurd-i386
Hi,
here's a patch so that ssh also supports hurd-i386. Thanks for
incorporating. The patch comes from Robert Bihlmeyer <robbe at orcus.priv.at>.

Going from 6 to 8 disks on ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe motherboard
My current home fileserver (running Open Solaris 111b and ZFS) has an ASUS
M2N-SLI DELUXE motherboard. This has 6 SATA connections, which are
currently all in use (mirrored pair of 80GB for system zfs pool, two
mirrors of 400GB both in my data pool).
I''ve got two more hot-swap drive bays. And I''m getting up towards 90%
full on the data pool. So, it''s time to expand,

auth_default_realm for different listeners
We provide POP3 service for several realms, each of which has a substantial
number of users logging in with no realm (bare username). We would like to
use Dovecot, but I haven't been able to findout how to vary
auth_default_realm for each listener.
My most recent attempt was to set up one auth {} block for each realm with a
different auth_default_realm and socket master path. I then set up

file-attr-restore and dollar signs
Hi All,
I've been using the great file-attr-restore script with rsync to get around
problems with uid's on a portable hard drive... It's the perfect solution
for me.
(for those that haven't seen it,you can get it here:
http://samba.org/ftp/unpacked/rsync/support/file-attr-restore
)
Anyway, I found a small bug in the script. file-attr-restore fails for file
names with dollar

Log message
Hi,
I'm working on some project which is sort of log filter.
Last few days I noticed that there are some wacky people
scanning sshd port all the time from anywhere.
Although sshd reports it with syslog error message which is
very helpful, I'd like to know the source ip address with
following message:
canohost.c: around line #100
if (getaddrinfo(name, NULL, &hints, &aitop) !=
