EDNS support
I am having problems with EDNS support on a few Centos 6.3 bind servers. I am trying to determine if the problem is my Juniper SSG5 firewall of Centos. All the servers have firewall enabled, though I have tested with stopping iptables and ip6tables. I am using tests from: https://www.dns-oarc.net/oarc/services/replysizetest dig @localhost +short rs.dns-oarc.net txt gets: ;; Truncated,

Some Internet users, especially those inside corporations and behind smaller ISPs, may experience intermittent problems. The reason is that some older

Any idea when we will have updated kmod-drbd82 rpm for the latest kernel?

Almost two months have passed and no sign of the rpm I was wondering if the mantainer has some news about it. Thanks. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Updates not catching up ?
Hi, I have downloaded and installed centos 4.1 from DVD and I a little confused with the update procedure. The faq from the centos.org site mentions something like 72 hrs (or less) from one security update to goes from the sources.rpm from rh to centos. I was cheking rh's site (https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/rhel4as-errata.html) and saw one update to mysql

php 5.1 or 5.2
Hi, The regular php distributed with centos 4.x is 4.x with php 5.0.x provided from extras/plus. It seems that we are weeks (a month?) away from 5.2.0. Are there any plans to upgrade those packages to 5.1 or 5.2? Thanks. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

EXT4 status for centos 5.3
Hi, I was wondering what is the current status fro ext4 support in Centos. I've noticed that is marked as dev when I try to use it from the installer. Does anybody have a scary story to prevent using it? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... My server won't boot (grub looping - stage2)
Hi, This morning one of my servers (centos 4.5) refused to boot. The console shows a lopp message grub loading stage2... I've been able to boot from the install CD choosing the rescue option. I can chroot /mnt/sysimage with no problems and even started the services (network, mysql , httpd etc). How can I solve this? I've followed the manual (

Getting ready for CentOS 5.4
Hi, Since the release of CentOS 5.3 is imminent(?) I'd like to ask a question regarding why did it took so long to be released and, more important, suggest some actions in order to reduce this time if I can assume what caused this delay. First I'd like to make sure I am not complaining about this delay between the RHEL and CentOS releases per se. I did not help in any way to make it

Using fedora's kernel on centos
Hi, The latest fedora kernel already has the CONNMARK support. I'd like to use it in my centos 4.2 server. I know it is not as stable as the 2.6.9.x the comes with centos but it is an alternative to using the vanilla kernel. I've managed to rebuild the rpm of the FC4 kernel in my Centos server but when trying to install I get Failed dependencies: mkinitrd >= 4.2.15-1 is

Configuring Login to access Samba
Hi, I'd like to use CentOS in my machines but I'd like to login using the same user/pass. Is it possible to configure KDM/GDM/whatever to check the user/password in my local samba. I would not want to create and mantain users in sync with a central passwd/shadow. Thanks. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

trimming CentOS - flash disk
Hi, I am switching a few specific servers with CentOS 4.2 and I'd like to use in some a flash disk (CF card). Unfortunately the minimum size of a centos install seems to be around 600 Mb (at least that's what I got) and 1 Gb card are still expensive and, IMHO too big if all you want is a gateway/iptables machine or a NFS server. There are other OSes and even distros that have a smaller
