2.6 memory management question
Hello all.
I have a centos 4.4 box (2.6.9-42.0.10.ELsmp) with 7gig of ram that
doesn't seem to be using swap (also 7gig now). I say "seem" because
I've noticed ram utilization run around 95% (with oracle and friends
running) and then firing up a couple apps to use that last 5% will
stop the machine dead in it's tracks.
I ran across some reading[0] about

Xen system hang or freeze
Hi all,
This is my first post to the list, I hope someone out there can help!
I am running xen 3.0.3, with CentOS 5.2 based Dom0
(kernel-xen-2.6.18-92.1.22.el5)
Recently I have noticed some complete system lockups on a few different
servers. Neither Dom0 or any of the guests respond to pings, connecting a
keyboard and monitor to the system only shows a blank screen. Nothing is

kbcached tuning on CentOS 4.4
If this is the wrong mailing list (though I doubt it is). Could someone
please direct me to the right one? Should this question be directed to
LKML instead?

Regards,

Justin.

kbcached tuning on CentOS 4
Hello,

I've been searching to no end at how to tune at what interval (or size)
kbcached will be flushed.

I had been chasing a potential memory leak until "sar -r", had revealed
that all the "mysteriously used" memory was actually being taken up by
the kernel data cache. It is chewing up all unused memory on the system
slowly over time, which is a concern. Various

Runaway: A Road Adventure
Has anyone gotten this game to run in Ubuntu 8.04? If so, how did you get it to work? When I try to run the game in a terminal, I get this error "Resource\Resource.000". Is there any special libraries you need in the Wine Configurations?

Runaway vncviewer processes
If I have vnc=1 and try to start a domain, if the domain creation fails
for some reason, the vncviewer process is not cleaned up.
I''ll try to send a patch next week if no one gets there before I do.

Hi i''m trying to run Xen on my amd64. Installed is
Debian 3.1 sarge i386 and Xen 2.0.7, my whole enviroment
is 32 bit.
When i''m running a xenU domain and use /var/xen/samba
as a ext2 fs file ( file:/var/xen/samba,hda1,w ) everything
goes according to plan.
If i use my LVM partition ( phy:/dev/xen/samba-ha,hda1,w )
it gives during boot:

Crashes on launch with runaway blank error message windows
New, clean, basic install of Xubuntu 10.04 on older 256MB 400MHz Celeron.
Wine 1.1.42-0ubuntu4 from us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid/universe Packages
When launching winecfg or a Windows app, opens window for app, then starts opening infinite "error" windows that are blank. Only way to stop is to restart.
Is there a log somewhare? Happen to anybody else?

Killing runaway PBX
How do I stop asterisk when it is in a bad mood? It keeps dialing
extensions and won't listen! I tried kill <PID>. No go. I don't want to
have to reboot again. Thanks.

P.S. I love it when my boss looks over my shoulder and I don't have an

Runaway 2 fails to run
I'm trying to play Runaway - The Dream of the Turtle under Wine. The game is listed as platinum in the AppDB, so I didn't expect a lot of problems. However, when I try to run it I get this in terminal and nothing else happens:

Runaway icecast again (more YP issues)
Geoff, to resolve the problem of the "Server exists" issue, I actually need
the stream name (I called it server name), as that is what is used (in
part) to key into the "Server exists" logic. Also, let me know if this is
still happening, or if it has resolved itself.

Runaway processes on Solaris
Hi Jerry and crew,

Our solaris 2.8 machine running Samba 2.2.8a ran out of swap. The Sun
engineer sent us the following which seemed to point to Samba. Have you
seen something like this before?

Thanks,
