mailx (PR#404)
Is there a reason that the default option for a mailer program (at least on Linux) is .Options$mailer="mailx"? I don't have mailx on my system, I suspect many other Linux users don't either, and it's kind of disconcerting to have bug.report() fail ... --please do not edit the information below-- Version: platform = i686-unknown-linux arch = i686 os = linux system =

Conversion from Centos 5 to Centos 7 & mailx changes
Everyone, I have just upgraded a Centos 5 server to a Centos 7 server and am having difficulty with a change of behavior of mailx with the use of a command line of : mail -s 'This is the subject' user at domain.com < text_file.txt On Centos 5 when mailx was used by a program started by a cron job we were able to send a text file as an email message and the headers did not contain

Re: Asterisk bandwidth tuning?
Well, I don't know how to tune it more, it connects at about that rate in a mediocre rural landline. ILBC uses samples of 30ms, so if you set the trunkfreq set to 20 you will be using more of the necesary scarce bandwidth AND dropping sample info in each frame, thus making audio choppy and unclear. Make shure to disallow all codecs and then allow only ILBC or lpc10 (search for it in

DTMF integration pana d500
Yes and No The D500 is a terrible thing First problem: it sends some horrible DTMF, so if your voicemail is configured to send #H and *H, it will not work, configure it to send numbers, like 8H and 9H (H is a placeholder for the extension). I also managed to use the MWI (message light), it's a perl script that is in voip-info.org, but with a little correction because the wiki distorted it. If

cal recording with email
I'm trying to set on-demand call recording. Here's a snippet of the pertinent dialplan. The purpose of this is to allow one user in particular to be able to receive an email recording of the call everytime he dials *91 + number. The problem is that the email is not going out or being generated when I use the ${CALLFILENAME} variable. When I use the actual file name of the gsm recording,

Meridian 808 Function
Hi, Some time ago, there was a discussion about the inability of nortel meridian pbx to dial analog tones thru an meridian ATA, and the work arround was to enable 808 function that makes the dtmf tones long for the current call. The nortel meridian is connected via a nortel ATA to a TDM400 to a FXO port. Anyone can say me who to actually use that function (you dial something or is pbx

security hole in mailx
Hi there. I''ve discovered a rather serious security hole in mailx, the good old Berkeley mail program. It''s somehow present at least in the last versions I''ve checked (mailx-8.1.1 in Linux, mailx 5.0 in Solaris). The bug is an exploitable buffer overflow (using the HOME environment variable) that allows any local user to acquire the privileges under which the program

Re: Asterisk bandwidth tuning?
I have an installation that connects in a [very] good day at 22kbps, but the normal is about 18kbps. I use de ILBC codec, and also change in iax.conf the trunkfreq = 20 to trunkfreq = 30 It works, you can understand well the other person, but don't expect miracles or an outstanding sound quality. > Dear Dan; > > Thanks alot for your kindly reply. > > Well, what u advise us

Specify sending machine from mailx command line?
When using "mail" (from the mailx package) to send mail from the command line, can I specify the sending system name? I want to mail the occasional status message to my personal e-mail account from a server machine. Something like this: echo "New IP address: $new_ip_address" | \ mail -s "DHCP - $interface addr change" myname at myisp.com When I attempt

Conversion from Centos 5 to Centos 7 & mailx changes
Stephen and Kenneth, Thank you very much for your help. I tried 'MAILRC=/dev/nul' which I put in /etc/mail.rc as 'set MAILRC=/dev/null' But I did not identify that this changed any behavior. The link below was very helpful Stephen thank you for your kindness in digging this out for me.
