can't "yum install mplayer" : no libmpcdec.so.3 available
Just upgraded to 5.4 yesterday morning. (Kudos to those who did that!) That's probably irrelevant to this problem: "yum install mplayer" fails. Here's what happens: ================================================== # yum install mplayer Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, filter-data, kernel-module, keys, kmod, list- : data, merge-conf, security, upgrade-helper,

Compiling FFmpeg with libopencore-amrnb and opus-git.
It appears that both Opus and amrnb have a function called preemphasis(). In the short term, your options are: 1) Not building statically 2) Renaming that function in the Opus code 3) Renaming that function in the amrnb code I can do the rename for the next version of libopus. Hi Any idea what's causing these errors:- /home/user/build/lib/libopencore-amrnb.a(preemph.o): In function `preemphasis': /home/user/build/opencore-amr-0.1.3/amrnb/../opencore/codecs_v2/audio/gsm_amr/amr_nb/dec/src/preemph.cpp:193: multiple definition of `preemphasis' /home/user/build/lib/libopus.a(celt_encoder.o):/home/user/build/opus/celt/celt_encoder.c:455: first defined here

Questions about kernel updates
The latest CentOS 5 kernel, 2.6.18-8.1.15.el5 broke my box and I had to drop back to 2.6.18-8.1.14.el5 before I could play DVDs with either Xine or mplayer. ( xine-0.99.5-1.el5.rf & mplayer-1.0-0.36.rc1try2.el5.rf ). This is no big deal to me -- as long as I can make certain that the older kernel doesn't go away. If I understand the installonly plugin correctly, an entry of tokeep=4 in

SWfdec and Directfb issue
Hello Everybody, I have been stuck for two weeks on running the swfdec-directfb-player on my ST5202 with COCOREF_V2 configuration.(stlinux 2.3) To clarify my critical situation, I have cross-compiled the Directfb 1.0.1 and the whole stack (libsoup, liboil.......) as mentioned in the wiki "Cross-compiling swfdec over DirectFB". Moreover, I have succeeded in cross-compiling the

Swfdec on STLinux
Hey, As some people might know, I've been contacted to make Swfdec run, and preferrably run fast, as a default UI on an STLinux[1] board. (For everyone not aware of it, this is an embedded ARM architecture (266MHz I think?) that uses DirectFB[2] for graphic output.) This mail is intended as a status report, it contains what I've learned and done about this in the last week. I've

CPU hogging in swfplay with directfb backend
Hi, I compiled swfdec with directfb backend. swfplay is able to play flash but it is taking almost 100% of the CPU. When flash is in pause state it is using less CPU. With X11 backend swfplay is taking less CPU. Can someone tell which is the function in swfdec responsible for the rending to the screen. I am using directfb-1.1.0, gtk+-2.10.14 and cairo-1.5.4.
