CGI configuration - second post
This is my second request for help with this problem. I have followed
the suggestions given the first time and made some progress but I still
have one final problem/question.
I have two CGI scripts that don't work. One is the standard Set-Cookie,
examples can be found all over the net, that sets a cookie and prints
"Your cookie name is set." The other is an automatic

yum-fastestmirror inconsistent exclude behavior
Hi guys,
I'm trying to figure out something wherein excluded repositories for
the yum-fastestmirror plugin are still being used by the system.
To illustrate:

[main]
enabled=1
verbose=0
socket_timeout=3
hostfilepath=/var/cache/yum/timedhosts.txt
maxhostfileage=10

recommendations/suggestions - geographically spread network based on Centos
Good day all,
I was wondering if I could pick some admin heads here as I have a HUGE
project I have been tasked with.....
I am asking here since I will be basing everything on Centos, and want
it to all play nice together. If anyone feels this is straying off
topic, please just reply off list. I do not want to be the cause of
one of those threads.
I have 3 offices, 1 in Canada, 2 in

dowload.file(method="libcurl") and GET vs. HEAD requests
Thanks for looking into it. Is there a way to avoid the HEAD request
in R 3.3.0? I'm asking because if there isn't, then I'll add a
workaround in a package I'm working on.

dowload.file(method="libcurl") and GET vs. HEAD requests
In R 3.2.4, if you ran download.file(method="libcurl"), it issues a
HTTP GET request for the file. However, in R 3.3.0, it issues a HTTP
HEAD request first, and then a GET requet. This can result in problems
when the web server gives an error for a HEAD request, even if the
file is available with a GET request.
Is it possible to tell download.file to simply send a GET request,

automated remote cloning
Good morning/day and Happy New Year.
We have a geographically distributed environment (marketing speak: cloud) where we regularly need to migrate individual systems to new hardware (for bigger disks or for better geographical placement, for example). We currently use Cobbler to do our base installs automatically and I am now looking at integrating Clonezilla with Cobbler. The goal is take an

geographically weighted glm
Hi all,
I am interested in obtaining R code related to geographically weighted
regression.
In particular, I am interested in building geographically weighted
Poisson GLMs. The model will contain categorical and continuous x
independent variables, with interaction effects between categorical and
continuous variables.
Anybody have anything I can look at?
thanks,
Mark.

Upgrading Samba 3 to Samba 4 with Active Directory at many sites
First, background information. We are a large (geographically local)
organization with 50 sites, including our HQ. Each site has a Debian Server
running Samba in NT-Domain Controller mode. Each site is independant of the
next, but are all named <SITE>.example.com. The workstations are connected,
and working fine in our sites with the single servers.
We had a recent network upgrade that now

No Audio
Hi all,
Sometimes when making a PC to PSTN call through asterisk, I got no audio in
both sides...tracing by wireshark, I can find that RTP packets are hitting
my PC but no audio...Can someone guess what could be that issue?
Maybe it's a latency issue?

Probably a bad set-up but which one?
I am having a problem that I assume is a set-up problem but I don't know
which area to look at to fix it. Hopefully someone here can point me in
the right direction.
I can't get the simple Perl "Hello World" script to work.
Oh, it does print "Hello World" OK but it also prints the "Content" line
as text rather than using it as a directive.

[LLVMdev] Slow GIT/SVN Connection
Is anyone else having issues with the GIT/SVN repositories for LLVM? Git
fetches are taking forever (> 15 minutes to compress 800 objects), and SVN
checkouts are going at about a file per minute. I've tried this on two
different, geographically-dissimilar networks so I don't think the problem
is on my end.
The web-site seems fine.

Howto create hd image with bootable (Free)DOS system
Hello,
I have to update the BIOS of several hundreds of geographically
distributed PCs.
Since we are using PXELINUX for years to install the OS (Linux) on this
PCs PXELINUX is my
first choice for doing this job.
The vendor of this PCs provides a bootable ISO image for the update.
Because of the size of the
firmware it is not possible to use a FD image (not even 2.88MB). But in
the documentation

Global vs local puppet management
Hi.
Have anyone ever managed several geographically distributed systems
with Puppet?
I have several almost exactly similar deployments (except the server
IP''s), which management I''m looking to convert to Puppet.
I have 2 options:
* Have each deployment to host it''s own PuppetMaster for providing
local configurations, then synchronize somehow the PuppetMasters

Hello everyone.
This is something I am interested in learning more about.
Let's say you have an audience of (what is in the subject line.)
What kind of infrastructure do you need for Icecast?
I asked a similar question about the liquidsoap group.
In Windows and Linux web servers, we can create a forest for our web servers.
Send traffic to different servers to even the workload.
Can we do
