Trouble syncing Palm via USB
Hi,
I'm having trouble getting my Palm to sync with jpilot on my Centos
system via USB. When I sync, I get this error in jpilot:
pi_accept Illegal seek
Exiting with status SYNC_ERROR_PI_ACCEPT
Finished
I have jpilot syncing fine with this Palm over the network, BTW. For
USB, I set things up for udev as described on various websites. Here
are the relevant ports & symlink (created

Palm m50x & the USB stack
[It seems the last time this came up was in march, under the heading of "Sony
Cybershot should be in hardware notes". This message is intended mainly to
document what I've managed to track down.]
The m500s still will not sync with pilot-link 0.11.7 in -STABLE. An easily
triggerable panic is another issue [1]. The pilot-link code first opens
/dev/ugenX and then switches to

Strange problem with filesystem changes reverting on reboot
Our sysadmin was doing midnight work on moving some hardware to new
power outlets. We'd recently done a CentOS 5.3 install on one of
those machines and then "yum install" with the centosplus kernel and
some rpmforge packages. It had been up and running fine for at least
two weeks in that configuration. He sent this message:
On reboot the root file system seems to have reverted to

Getting JPilot working
I am trying to get JPilot working.
I have configed gnome-pilot-applet, but it is not talking to the USB
connected Treo650.
My Treo has my name as the user, so from the applet, I see also a userid
(my UID on this system it seems). I try to put that on the Treo and
nothing happens. I have enabled the Backup Conduit.
I am using /dev/pilot, which shows up when my Treo is connected via its

And now onto the palm pilot with Kpilot
I've looked up the Kpilot manual, and I think I have an okay idea of
what's going on with it.
I'm trying to get it's detection feature to find my Palm Pilot. CentOS
does seem to be able to recognize it, because if I run lsusb when
running a hot sync, I get the following:
[root at localhost dev]# lsusb

how to define a pilot number
Hello all,
is it possible to define a pilot number in asterisk, say I have 3 direct
lines and I want one of those direct lines to be used as pilot number?
When that number is contacted it will be redirected to the available zap
and original zap that receive it will be freed to receive another call.
It can only be used when all 2 lines ares used.
Thanks.

Aggregate Help
Please let me know if this is or is not the right place to ask these
types of questions.
Warning: I am new to R by two days.
I have a simple dataset.
I have loaded the dataset successfully using the following code:
Filepath=(C:\temp\\pilot\dataset1.txt")
Pilot=read.table(filepath, header=TRUE)
Dataset1.txt is delimited and looks like this:

[fdo] Request to host project "OpenSync" a synchronization framework
Hi
i am Armin Bauer, one of the developers of Multisync, an application to
sync various pdas, cellulars and other programs (see www.multisync.org
for further information)
We recently ran into design limitations with our current version, which
was where we decided to develop a new major version of Multisync. I
started working on the new design but quickly noticed to there are a lot

Palm Hotsync success...
Well, after having given up uppon serial communication from
hotsync.exe to the Palm Vx, I decided to try network communication
instead.
I am able to perform a complete hotsync even with Netscape Calendar
synchronization. I am not doing anything special to make it work but
it is not straight forward, neither.
I start hotsync.exe, configuring it for network access only. Then I

ploting a comparison of two scores, including the labels in the plot
Hello r-help!
I have data with two kind of ratings on status of 100 occupations. The
first kind of rating is on the percieved "objective" status that these
occupations have in society at large, and the second kind or rating is
on the status that the respondents think that these occuption *should*
have.
The ratings were originally integer values in the rage 1-9, but in the

Cisco Callmanager & Asterisk for Voicemail revisited
Some of you may remember back in May the thread on using Asterisk as a
voicemail server for a Cisco Callmanager system.
My own Callmanager system is integrated into an Asterisk server for
voicemail (and other things). Back in May I was using H323 for
integration, but since I've upgraded to CCM 4.1 I have switched over
to SIP.
The integration with H323 required using Call forwarding to send

Changing permissions on files that only exist during USB operation
A while back I got help in getting my Palm Pilot to connect to CentOS,
and through the advice I got here I was able to successfully back up my
files to the computer using the CentOS default Palm utility.
However, I now want to use JPilot to sync and install files. But when I
attempt to sync through JPilot, I get the following error:

Unlocking Cisco 7921
I've got a few Cisco 7921 wifi phones to use with an Asterisk pilot. For
the purpose of the pilot (i.e. low investment) I want to configure the
phones from the keypad.
Each phone shows "settings locked!" whenever I try to edit the network
profiles. I can't seem to unlock them! Hopefully there is a secret button
combination...I would hate to have to go to a Cisco Unified

Sample size of longitudinal and skewed data
Hi all:
I have a question about the sample size calculation.
It's a pilot study,which includes 2 groups(low,high),3 time point(3,6,9
monthes). Each person has 3 results which according to the
3 time points.So it's a longitudinal study.
I want to calculate the minimum sample size from the pilot study, but can't
find the solution since the data is highly skewed and

Pipeline pilot fingerprint package
Hi,
I am trying to see if I can use R to perform more rigorous regression analysis. I wonder if the fingerprint package is able to handle pipeline pilot fingerprints (ECFC6 etc) now.
Thank you,

The current state of palm syncing on Linux?
I've been searching around on the internet trying to find out about
conduits and options for syncing programs with my Palm Pilot device.
Google searches turn up a lot of discussion on the matter over a two or
three year period, everything from people talking about doing it or how
it should be done or how much they want it done.
But I can't actually determine what, if any, tangible

To upgrade or not
My laptop is a Thinkpad T20 running CentOS 5.1
The reason it is running CentOS at all is because Fedora Core 6 was
workable on it, but Fedora 8 was a complete dog.
Anyway - with all the new desktop stuff in CentOS 5.2 I'm wondering if I
would be happier just leaving it at 5.1 rather than letting it update to
5.2.
Will 5.1 continue to get security fixes if I leave it at 5.1 or do I
need
