Switching to 16 bit colour ...
"bit of trouble" - good pun! But I do hope it gets solved. Can you make a bash file (oh no - a pun of my own!) to automate any of those annoyances? Would putting the game "in its own WINE" help at all? strange misflagging of incoming mail as trash
Setting up postfix/dovecot on a clean FreeBSD cloud server, and have discovered a strange problem resulting from the interaction of Mac OS X Mail and dovecot (using the Maildir file structure). Essentially, under very specific circumstances, Mail somehow tells dovecot that a new incoming message is trash, dovecot marks it as such, and the message effectively vanishes. The specific circumstance is

Some help with sudo on remote side of rsync
I have an rsync script that has worked well for me for quite a while now rsyncing RAID volumes attached to two servers, one on our LAN and one at our colocation facility. I have been struggling for months, however, to get the script to run without password prompts so I can run it on cron. The rsync script is running on the system at the colo and ?pulling? files from the LAN system

fixing deleted-to-trash-plugin
Hi, I'm currently trying to make the deleted-to-trash-plugin work with dovecot v1.2.4, without this plugin the trash mailbox is pretty useless with mail clients like Evolution and Outlook, I still can't believe this functionality isn't intergrated into dovecot since it doesn't even influence the operation of other mail clients that do support this option theirselfs (even when

Thunderbird 3.1 unable to delete subfolder of Trash under mdbox
Thunderbird 3.1.9 over Windows 7. Dovecot 2.0.11 (2:2.0.11-0~auto+41 from http://xi.rename-it.nl/debian/ source on 8 Apr 2011) over Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. Trying to set up a Dovecot system with mdbox. But I also wanted to keep some Maildir. So I ended up with both mdbox and Maildir side-by-side and noticed an issue. On this system, Dovecot's global mail location is configured with

trash plugin not doing it's job
I enabled the trash plugin yesterday, adding "trash" to mail_plugins, and configuring the plugin setting "trash = /etc/dovecot/dovecot-trash.conf.ext". But I still see users with lots of files in INBOX.Trash getting bounced because of quota exceeded: postfix/lmtp[26273]:: C89F490061: to=<XXXXXXXXXXXXX at example.no>, relay=loadbalancers.example.net[192.168.42.15]:24,

More efficient Deleting of a whole folder (or Purging Trash)
Hi, I've straced a few dovecot processes after hitting purge on a large Trash folder (35,000 messages). It looks like it is going through each message, one by one, and removing (unlinking) each one. Is there not a more efficient way to do this? If Dovecot knows the whole folder is being deleted (ie a Trash purge), could it do something clever with the filesystem to just remove the whole

moving public folders to private Trash
Using Thunderbird 1.5.0.4 against dovecot beta9: If a user has Thunderbird configured to move deleted messages into a Trash folder, then the user cannot delete folders in a public namespace. There is no problem deleting messages. Thunderbird says: "The current command did not succeed. The mail server responded: Can't rename mailbox to another storage type." All mailboxes

Network Trash Folder - how to do it?
Hello,I saw on Apple mashines connected to AppleShare Server that they had something called 'Network Trash Folder'. That is if some is working on a server volume and deletes a file from the volume, the file appears in user's Trash on his Desktop (but?it is really placed on the server in volume's special folder called 'Network Trash Folder'). So he can restore the file if he

messages lingering in .Trash/new instead of .Trash/cur
We're running Dovecot rc15 on Solaris 9, providing IMAP access to e-mail stored in Maildir++. I've noticed that a significant number of message files are currently sitting in the directories ~/Maildir/.Trash/new/. I would have expected that all messages in .Trash would be in the /cur subdirectory (as most are), and I'm not sure how they're landing in /new. If I connect to

Hello to all of you! ;-) My first post on this list. I frequently get this error in dovecot.log every time a user logs in and out: ============================= imap(mailaddress): Error: quota: Unknown namespace: Trash ============================= When I change my conf.d/90-quota.conf from "Trash" to ".Trash" (as this is the imap/maildir folder name, the error stays the

Fatal error with IMAP MOVE from a shared mailbox to Trash folder
Hello everyone. I have a problem using Dovecot 2.2.26 with ACL plugin and deleting e-mails from a shared mailbox. My user doesn't have the "expunge" permission on the shared mailbox, but it has the "write-deleted" permission. So, when I delete a message from the shared mailbox using a client that implements the IMAP MOVE command, it tries to move the message to my Trash

unlink_directory(....Trash.NewFolder) failed: Directory not empty
I noticed the following this week. No idea how long its been happening because I have not tested deleting folders hardly at all. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create a folder "NewFolder", click on it in thunderbird so an index dir is created: ls -ldi Maildir/.NewFolder/ 1504062 drwx------ 5 mcdouga9 egrstaff 4096 Nov 16 19:44 Maildir/.NewFolder/ ls -ldi

FW: FW: Adding OpenBSD sudo to the FreeBSD base system?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA512 Sudo requires extra configuration that su does not. Why should I have to waste my time configuring another app just because a handful of people want it? I like su and how it works and I guarantee I am not the only one. You want it replaced replace it your self cd /usr/ports/security/sudo && make install clean That simple! Don't waste

trash plugin
The trash plugin docs say: "Normally if a message can't be saved/copied because it would bring user over quota, the save/copy fails with "Quota exceeded" error. The trash plugin can be used to avoid such situations by making Dovecot automatically expunge oldest messages from configured mailboxes until the message can be saved" This leads me to believe that if a message
