brewing stats
I guess this isn't so much of a help request as a show-and-tell from a
non-statistician homebrewer who has been fumbling around with R. If
nothing else it provides yet another data set. I hope it is not out of
line.
Anyway, the plots I have produced are at

The polling method is somewhat simple, its just one of those multiple

zaptel 1.4.10 regression with TE220B on Proliant DL380 G5 ?
Hi list,
After a lot of testing + troubleshooting, I guess I'm observing
what I am now calling a regression with zaptel 1.4.10 (is it?)
As such I call for peer feedback, before either asking Digium
install support or filing a bug.
Thanks in advance!
System: HP Proliant DL380 G5 with 2x PCI-X + 1x PCIe riser card
OS: Centos 5

ext4 deadlock issue
I'm having an occasional problem with a box. It's a Supermicro 16-core
Xeon, running CentOS 6.3 with kernel 2.6.32-279.el6.x86_64, 96 gigs of
RAM, and an Areca 1882ix-24 RAID controller with 24 disks, 23 in RAID6
plus a hot spare. The RAID is divided into 3 partitions, two of 25 TB
plus one for the rest.
Lately, I've noticed sporadic hangs on writing to the RAID, which

PCI passthrough problems
Hello,
I'm having a problem, I've seen other people with the same problem,
but with USB.
Some people solved this with the pciback.permissive option, but in my
case it's ignored.
I'm using CentOS 5.2 - 2.6.18-92.1.10.el5.centos.plusxen
The error return from the console starting the domU is below.
I've tried swiotlb=force, pciback.permissive like I said.
My configs are:

(large, external) data journal BUG (Assertion failure in __journal_drop_transaction() at fs/jbd/checkpoint.c:626: "transaction->t_forget == NULL")
Hi,
A couple of our important servers, both running FC4 but one i386 and one
x86_64, have been crashing recently. They both are running ext3
data=journal with large external journals and high commit intervals.
Both machines use the gdth driver for their hardware RAID sets, if
that's of any use. I think the hardware is good in both cases.
I hope someone finds this data useful enough to be

Nested brew call yields Error in .brew.cat(26, 28) : unused argument(s) (26, 28)
I am writing several webpages using the brew package and R2HTML. I would
like to work off one script so I am using nested brew calls. The
documentation for brew states that:
"NOTE: brew calls can be nested and rely on placing a function named
?.brew.cat? in the environment in which it is passed. Each time brew is
called, a check for the existence of this function is made. If it
exists,

brew 1.0-1
brew implements a templating framework for mixing text and R code for
report generation. brew template syntax is similar to PHP, Ruby's erb
module, Java Server Pages, and Python's psp module.
brew is written in R with no package dependencies, and it's not just for
the web. It can be used as an alternative to Sweave in a limited
context. See the brew-test-1.brew file in the

Processing POST data with brew?
Heya Folks,
I've got to process a form that contains variable series of values,
which i want to collect into a vectors.
Say the first series has ten values, with id's ranging from X1 to X10,
currently i process them in the following hardcoded manner:
x1 <- c(as.numeric(POST$X1), as.numeric(POST$X2), as.numeric(POST$X3),
as.numeric(POST$X4), as.numeric(POST$X5), as.numeric(POST$X6),

brew equivalent of "R CMD Sweave"
Dear all
Is there an equivalent of "R CMD Sweave" for brew [1] documents?
Something in the lines of "R CMD brew"? Can R be configured to parse
brew documents from the commandline, without opening an interactive R
session and issuing the following?
require(brew)
brew("featurefull.brew")
I would like to set a LyX converter for brew documents, and for this
I'd need

Strange situation with openssl and kernel
Hello,
On a VM guest (running under KVM) with CentOS 5.8, I yesterday strangely
got the following (see below).
The server runs apache/php/squirrelmail/postfix/dovecot/openldap and it
is a production server.
Do you advise to do some particular file system checks or other
settings? Any other advice?
Such errors have not appeared in the past.
Thanks,
Nick

Apple's SSH x OpenSSH (brew) x CTK x Security Key types
Hi,
What I was trying to do (apart from toying with stuff) was to get a realiable, single, portable/importable credential that would be universally available whenever I need it but in normal operation would be either stored in or wrapped by Secure Enclave (this means EC keys), instead of provisioning 5 resident FIDO keys, one Secretive SE-wrapper key and a backup key. (I know, I could use

The strange case of xen_netback not returning ARP replies
Hello,
I''m facing a rather strange problem with the netback interface. My setup
involves a netvm, which has some physical network interfaces assigned,
and a client VM where a net front is running (exposed as eth0) and which
is connected to that netvm (via vif42.0 interface, as seen in the netvm
on the dumps below).
Now, the netvm has two physical network interfaces assigned:

General protection fault
Hello
I have an active-active DRBD cluster using OCFS2 as the filesystem on
the drbd devices.
I started getting a "general protection fault error" when trying to
mount any one of the ocfs2 volumes I have, even when running mount on a
single node, with no mounted FSs on the other node.
The kernel trace follows at the bottom of this message. Does anyone know

A desktop Centos remix
Hello Centos users!
I'm doing a Centos 6 desktop oriented remix called Stella.
This has been brewing since the summer and it's starting to get ready. :-)
I've backported a lot of packages from Fedora and Rpmfusion and I
bundle several other repos, too, resulting in a big range of software
available, including but not limited to:
