chattr +T not implemented?
We run a third party application that creates an inordinate amount of subdirectories in a single directory. To speed up I/O, I wanted to set the T attribute on the directory that will hold the subdirectories. The "chattr +T /usr/local/lepus-bb/a-0607" command returns status 0, but when I verify the setting, the attribute isn't there: # lsattr -d /usr/local/lepus-bb/a-0607

"error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(150)" revisited
I browsed the web and the archive, and apart from someone asking whether anyone else had rsync problems after installing OpenSSH 3.4, I came up empty. Can anyone point me in the right direction to debug this? I've got over 50 GB to keep in sync, and don't know of another elegant way to do it. PMA attacks
It appears to be a low-level attack, not so frequent as to be banned permanently, just a number of times a day. I did google on this, and I gather it's looking for phpmyadmin. We've been getting one from one specific network in Russia for weeks Here are more information about 91.201.64.24: [Querying whois.ripe.net] [whois.ripe.net] <snip> % Information related to '91.201.64.0

ext3 data=ordered - good enough for oracle?
Given that the default journaling mode of ext3 (i.e. ordered), does not guarantee write ordering after a crash, is this journaling mode safe enough to use for a database such as Oracle? If so, how are out of sync writes delt with? Kind regards, Herta Disclaimer: http://www.kuleuven.be/cwis/email_disclaimer.htm

phpMyAdmin can't connect to remote server
Hi All, I have had a thread about this going on the phpMyAdmin list for a little while. Nobody there has been able to shed any light on my problem. It seems that with phpMyAdmin I can not connect to remote servers. Though it also seems that apache, php and mysqli all work fine outside of phpMyAdmin. Below I have detailed my trouble shooting. This only seems to be an issue for me with CentOS 5 so

I'm trying to install CentOS 5.2 on a Dell PE 1850 via the DRAC 4 card, with CentOS-5.2-i386-bin-1of6.iso mounted as virtual media. At the boot prompt, I hit <Enter>, which should start the graphical installation, but it starts off with a text installation. re-linking hard links
Hello, I have a situation where I have numerous files with numerous hard links to each of them on an ext3 RHEL4.2 system. Some of these files are duplicates of the others. I would like to re-link all of the duplicates to point to a single inode. For instance if file1 has hardlinks link1 and link2, and file2 has hardlinks link3 and link4, I need to change it so that link1, link2 (these
