More on Linux on the OQO
I am going over: ftp://ftp.oqo.com/unsupported/linux/OQOLinux.html This is for the 'older' model 1, I have the model 2. The files are 18 mo old, and relate to kernel 2.6.10. Of course I want to avoid a custom kernel, but please help me understand what is being covered here: "2. Enable crusoe processor in kernel .config CONFIG_MCRUSOE=y" What is the crusoe processor? 3.

New Pico-ITX
Powerful enough to run a small asterisk server though not sure if the drop down in size from a mini-atx or a micro-atx but I'm sure someone will try. http://www.geek.com/first-look-via-px10000-pico-itx-motherboard Regards, Dean Collins Cognation Pty Ltd dean at cognation.net <mailto:dean at cognation.net> +1-212-203-4357 Ph +61-2-9016-5642 (Sydney in-dial). --------------

What ever happened to the dkms atheros drivers/
My OQO boxes have the AR5413 wifi chipset, so for the first time in quite a while, I again need to run madwifi. So I went looking for the dkms madwifi rpms, but could not find them. They use to be on rpmforge, as I recall. dkms is there. So have I lost some memory cells or have these rpms taken a hike?

cpufreq and suspend
With my OQO, I get the following message when I try to suspend: cpufreq: suspend failed to assert current frequency is what timing core thinks it is. I see in /var/log/messages: kernel: acpi-cpufreq: CPU0 - ACPI performance management activated There are a number of apps and such dedicated to 'cpufreq' on the system. I have done a bit of searching and have not figured out what to do

I have a test system that hangs hard...
I have a test system: Centos 5.2 on an OQO, that has been hanging hard. I have to unplug it and pull the battery so I can then cold start it. This last time all I did was open a terminal window and SU to root, then start the lastest build of SIP Communicator (which uses JRE 1.6.0_10). I was not even making a test phone call at the time. Oh, and the system only runs IPv6, no v4 addressing.

I am looking into convising the boss to get me a mini-itx system to replace my workhorse notebook (I have to have a corp notebook and I can remote terminal into a Centos server from it). So I have been playing with one mini-itx system (the decTOP) and am looking at my options. I want a fast processor, 1Gb memory, LAN, 4USB, VGA. Install via VNC
This sounds very interesting: http://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/VncHeadlessInstall It would get me around my limitations on the screen on the OQO. And the instructions read rather well. Only thing I don't know how to do is have vncviewer in 'listen' mode.

TDM400p susceptible to EMI?
I have a TDM400p with 3 fxs and 1 fxo daughter cards. It's in a mini-itx case with a 'right-angle' PCI riser card so the TDM400p is 'sandwiched' between the Atom D525 CPU and the 2.5" hard drive. I'm getting a bunch of clicks and pops on all ports. Has anybody had a similar experience? Did you find a solution? -- Thanks in advance,

Centos installed on OQO mod 2
Since I have a four of these units, and the XP recovery CD, I figured, "ah give it a go." And going through the Centos wiki, I found a simple piece I was missing: "linux text askmethod". There were a few problems I had with the text install: Disk Druid does not work with LVM partitions, much, in text mode. I was able to increase the size of the swap partition though...

Suspend to swap failing on OQO
error is: cpufreq: suspend failed to assert current frequency is what timing core thinks it is. I think this might be tied into one of the Unbutu install notes: ftp://ftp.oqo.com/unsupported/linux/OQOLinux.html ?? Really need to be able to suspend.

simple C function segfaults
Hello, I use the simplest of examples that somebody can think of in order to generate a matrix of random numbers from within C, calling appropriate R functions. The concrete example is below: --- file pico.c #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <math.h> #include <R.h> #include <Rmath.h> #define COLM( i, j, m ) ( m*j + i) void pico ( double *y, int n,

smbclient sees the virtual samba server but not the windows clients
Hello Again! I now have a virtual host serving (almost) samba and a real one serving samba under the original name. On the local machine, I can access the the virtual host through smbclient and smbmount. Everything seems all right. Unfortunately, the virtual host won't serve the windows-9x machines. The virtual (and real) host both appear on the network browse list but when the win clients
