I have a customer that has a Trendnet TEW-435BRM router which has the bad habit of rewriting all external connections so the Asterisk server only sees the IP address of the router itself. As an experiment, I am attempting to build a more recent version of GNOME than 2.16.0 on CentOS 5.1. I've tried both garnome and jhbuild, and neither one works quite right. I just put a 1680x1050 LCD monitor on my home system, and I went into system-config-display to configure it as such, and it just won't take. I had to tweak some of the settings by hand, but when I log out, I get the wide screen for both the Nvidia driver splash screen and the login screen. But, when I log in, It jumps back to 1280x1024 and refuses to run in wide screen mode. Here's the
