Asterisk daemon dies about once per day
I have an asterisk system where the asterisk daemon dies typically at least once per day. It is running in the wrapper safe_asterisk, which automatically starts the daemon back up. But we find this unacceptable because when the daemon dies, we usually have active calls drop, and sometimes we have to run asterisk -r -x "module reload" after the daemon starts back up before everything is

Server Setup Advice
Hello Everybody!
I am currently setting up an Asterisk server for medium to high load
(approximately 20-35 concurrent phone lines).
Do you think the following specs will sufficiently satisfy this system?
CPU: XeonQC3220 2.4GHZ 8M
RAM: 2X2GB/800
Harddrive: 1X250GB
I could add harddrives and partition them into /var and /log
directories to help with diskdrive throughput.
Thanks!

64-bit OS, WINE and Memory (size) related question.
Having avoided them for some time now, based on compatibility concerns as I began to learn and use Linux full time, I?ve recently gotten the urge to start playing around with some 64-bit distro?s. The benefit of course is running more than the 4Gb (system-wide) limit imposed by a 32-bit OS. In my current system I only have 2Gb (2x1Gb) of RAM so I?m thinking of either adding 4Gb (2x2Gb) or even

HVM guest support unavailable
Hi,
when I try to start a hvm the well known error message "Error: HVM guest support is unavailable: is VT/AMD-V supported by your CPU and enabled in your BIOS?" appears. I am using an Intel E8400 on Asus P5E VM DO Board. /proc/cpuinfo info shows that the CPU has vmx support. I have enabled "Vanderpool Technology" in BIOS.
According to the xen user manual the package dev86

Screen Corruption in directory trees in foobar2000
Hi I've just built a new Ubuntu 9.04 system on an Asus P5Q-EM board (intel G45/X4500) with E8400 Core Duo 2 chip.
I installed WINE and then foobar2000 but notice that the explorer tree in the Album List and Preferences window quite often become corrupt.

Photoshop CS2 and Memory + Image Cache issue
Hi guys,
I have a DUO CORE E8400 (3.0 ghz) and 4 gigs RAM (800mhz)
Currently using WINE 1.0 and Photoshop CS2...
My issue is how we can increase the limit of the memory ram in my Photoshop preferences panel under Memory and Image Cache from 2 gigs to 4 gigs RAM?
It doesn't seem to realize I have 4 gigs ram?
Cheers!

[LLVMdev] Showstopper on Visual C
struct X86AsmPrinter is in an anonymous namespace, but printInstruction
is declared in namespace llvm. try editing the tablegen output to move
X86AsmPrinter::printInstruction into an anonymous namespace, not llvm.
I suspect this will at least fix the first problem. Then we can figure
out the proper longterm fix.

[LLVMdev] Showstopper on Visual C
Hi all,
Well, suggestion for workarounds for the namespace problems are
welcome... this is a 7 minutes compile files on a pentium 4 3ghz 700Mb
ram...
The fatal error at the end MAY depend on the previous... or at least, I
hope so.

CentOS virt-sig Linux kernel 4.9.155 build
Hello everyone,
Some of you might remember discussions earlier in 2017 (huh, long time ago) on centos-virt list about Linux kernel tty/ldisc related bug, which caused Xen dom0 kernel crashes for some people (and also more easy to trigger crashes on other arches, like on hp pa-risc), but the bug was difficult to reproduce for others/most people.
Fix for this issue was merged to centos virt-sig

feature request/reminder - alias / bootsector
HPA, a longterm reminder. See below.
Can you also make a LABEL ignore other labels if no KERNEL statement is found in between? That way you could define multiple aliasses for an entry.
label foo
label bar
label memtest
kernel memtestp
foo ignores 'label bar' , 'label memtest' and executes 'kernel memtest'
bar ignores 'label memtest' and executes 'kernel

Sites that use Mongrel
It would be an interesting topic. I bet there are quite a few.
I just released one that 1/2 runs on Mongrel. http://direxionfunds.com
It was released before it was _quite_ ready, but the last of the
content is getting inserted today. I am still waffling on how I will
leave it running longterm. Right now it uses a slightly modified
version of the Mongrel http parser with EventMachine to front
