Bonding and Xen
Does anyone has implemented this sucessfully?
I am asking this because we are implementing Xen on our test lab machines,
which they hold up to three 3com and intel Nics 10/100mbps based.
These servers are meant to replace MS messaging and intranet webservers
which holds up to 5000 hits per day and thousands of mails, and probably the
Dom0 could not handle this kind of setup with only one 100mbps

Permission question
Hello,
We own a CentOS Server which hosts a few domains using Cpanel, however
each host or domain has its own user and its own folder under /home,
we want a separate user(newuser1) to have read and write privileges in
all home's subdirectories so we can do some tasks remotely using
WinSCP, that user is already in the sudoers group and the root login
is disabled in SSH for security, but I

NS Question
Hello everyone,
I got a question, I'm not new in the linux scene or even a geek, but I
am confused about certain stuff regarding Bind, DNS stuff, or
whatsoever, maybe it's a silly question. Anyway.
About 3 years ago I hired a dedicated server in certain company, for
hosting my site and some other sites, didn't work at all the plan I
had, nevertheless I was using Redhat 9 or something

I'm new to CentOS 5.2 and I want to know how can I change the /var/www/html

OT: Windows TAPI command-line driver
Hi,
This is a bit off-topic, but still related to telephony. Is there a
barebones TAPI driver that exists that would allow me to call up a command
line with, as parameter, the number to dial.
For exemple, Outlook integrates with TAPI, so that TAPI driver would allow
me to call my own app with the phone number as argument.
ex when clicking on 555-555-5555: the TAPI driver would call

OT - Windows slowdown?
I know this isn't the right forum for this (do I ever!), but you-all know so
much about everything I thought I'd ask.
About two months ago I resurrected my daughter's Compaq laptop (cracked
screen - replaced it) and ran an update on it. It's running Windows XP, SP1
(I think), but since the update it has run about 1/3 as fast as it used to.
Does anyone know if there was a WXP

Exact String Compare in R?
Dear R users:
Here's a barebones example of what I can't make work.
As you can see, regexpr() does not perform an exact string match, which only
occurs in row 1 of these data frames. Instead, as it's supposed to do, it
finds "b" in "bb" and "c" in "cc". Does anybody know what function I can use
such that only the first rows would be matched (ie,

[LLVMdev] Using MCJIT in a dynamic REPL environment
The new MCJIT is module-oriented, like a classic compiler+linker (which it
is) while the old JIT is function-oriented.
If I understand correctly, the main problems with the old JIT were the
duplication of the debug information code and EH code (both gone now).
Moreover, if we ignore the lazy evaluation mechanism then the current JIT
is actually quite simple module.
Would it be possible to keep

Tyan K8SRE troubles with CentOS 4.4 i386
We have been seeing failures with CentOS 4.4 i386 (not x86_64) running
compute-intensive programs on Tyan K8SRE (S2891) Tymotherboards, running
Opteron 265's. This motherboard is used in the Tyan barebones box GT24
(B2881). We have these boards populated with 8GB of RAM, consisting of
mixed 2GB and 1GB sticks.
The symptom is that CPU-bound programs (may or may not be related to

how to change or copy to another the names of models
Hi
I would like to know how I can change the name of a model for each
trainning cycle of a model.
I work with the RSNNS package and to build a neural network, I used :
for (i in 5:30) ....
model_ANN <- mlp(X, Y, size=n,....) # where size is the number of neurons
in the hidden layer
but I need to save each time that the model that is build (the end of each
cycle), e.g., when i = 5, I need to

[LLVMdev] Using MCJIT in a dynamic REPL environment
Sure, that makes a lot of sense. The implementation details may get tricky, of course, but the concept is great.
