Problems setting terminal size in termcap/xterm
Hi I'm trying to set the terminal size in /usr/share/vte/termcap/xterm, but it seems that CentOS doesn't look at this file. I know this works in REHL 4.7 and Fedora 10, 11. Does anyone know a work around to this? Thanks Marcelo

Multiple windows shell multiplexer...
Hi, I am currently using keyboardcast but I had to modify the sources to make it behave "properly" (light, auto-placed, auto-tiled windows, etc) and... I lost my modifications and do not want to recode it once more... :/ I wanted to use mssh (not the python one, the one from Bradley Smith) but I cannot find an rpm and cannot compile it on CentOS 5 due to a too old vte-devel library

help to implement LXC terminal
Hi, guys! I began to write qt-virt-manager (https://github.com/F1ash/qt-virt-manager), using libvirt API. I'm currently trying to implement a terminal for LXC-containers, but I do not have enough knowledge and experience. As I understand it, i must use virDomainOpenConsole, which binds virStream with working domain (Virtual Machine). But how to use this stream, I do not know ( I found

hung processes in STABLE
For the past three weeks (this is really a guess as I just noticed it last week) I have been seeing many processes started in terminal windows that are no longer in existence. They were started using something like: gnome-terminal -x weather.pl -wr where weather.pl is a simple Perl script that prints a text file and periodically updates it by clearing the screen and re-writing the file to get the

R package: Where to put code to Run Once Only?
Is there a specific place where we can place code to run once only in a package? I have code that switches based on Sys.info()[["nodename"]] - but since this just about never changes, I would like to run it only once when someone runs: require( mypackage ) or library( mypackage ) I'm tempted to have some free-floating code in global space (in one of my package's .R files), but

cygwin 1.7.x rsync 3.0.6 hangs at arbitrary reproducible points in transfers
Since upgrading to cygwin 1.7.x, I'm unable to complete rsync jobs to a Debian machine (running stable). cygwin rsync is 3.0.6; Debian is 3.0.3. The transfer goes for a while and then just gets stuck halfway through an arbitrary file. If I cancel and restart, same thing (but gets a little further). If I manually copy the file in question, it will usually go a bit longer and then get stuck

smbd's using up 100% of all cpu's and load avg slowly going up
Hi, Yes, I already thought about it. I have the sernet repo installed.. Is possible to yum update and jump from 4.1.6 to 4.1.14 directly, without problems or should I follow some kind of procedure to avoid future problems? Regards, Bruno Andrade. rsync problem with cygwin 1.7.?
Hello. My laptop runs XP Home SP3 and my workstation XP Prof. SP3. I use Cygwin and rsync to sync my files to a Debian 4.0 server which runs rsync 2.6.9 in daemon mode. It had always worked quite will until I upgraded to Cygwin 1.7.x (the laptop runs Cygwin 1.7.4 and the workstation 1.7.5 with rsync 3.0.7) I use rsync -av --progress --delete foouser at 192.168.0.xxx::foo_user_files/ to sync
