Hello,
To fix some issues in working with gs 8.63 I had to upgrade to 8.64. I build the rpm from ghostscript-8.64-9.fc11.src.rpm. I get the following error when running
gs -q -dSAFER -dNOPAUSE -dBATCH -dUseCropBox -dFirstPage=1 -dLastPage=1 -sOutputFile=/tmp/TIFF-%d.tif -r300 -sDEVICE=tiff12nc foobar.pdf

Accounting package recommendations
I have to say, GnuCash simply doesn't do it for me. As a tech, I don't
have time to figure out accounting systems, and I really don't want to
have this info on the internet in 3rd party's control.

ledgersmb installation
I'm attempting to install ledgersmb on Centos 5 and I'm sure that I've missed
something.
After doing the initial installation, I get a 404 when I get to the part of the
instructions that tell me to go to http://localhost/ledgersmb/admin.pl
/etc/httpd/conf.d/ledgersmb.conf contains the following line:
Alias /usr/share/ledgersmb WORKING_DIR

vnc - single application or a "remote localhost" on Firefox
Normally I use VNC-over-SSH to provide a complete desktop to a remote user.
Is there a way to provide a single application to a user instead of a complete
desktop?
In this case I am looking for a method to provide remote report-viewing access
to LedgerSMB for a company's outside accountant. LedgerSMB runs through a web
browser (i.e. http://localhost/ledgersmb) so he doesn't need or want

kickstart: dracut-initqueue fails due to unresolvable hostname even though network config looks perfectly ok
This problem still bites us. I've tried to play around with DHCP
settings (rd.net.timeout.dhcp, rd.net.dhcp.retry) to no avail.
I'm happy about /any/ hint.
Cheers

Delay Loading Rails Views
Hi All,
I''m having trouble with a Rails app and I can''t figure out what /
where the problem is.
From the logging and testing I''ve done, it looks like there is a
consistent 3 second delay between the time that Rails finishes
rendering the view and the time that the browser actually receives the
data. That delay doesn''t show up on my laptop, running in

the tag Obsoletes: in spec files
How exactly to use the tag "Obsoletes:" in a spec file ?
I need to offer texlive to users on Centos-5.6, so I packaged it (based
on a Mandriva src.rpm), and that works.
But I want rpm to *replace* tetex by texlive, instead of just adding
texlive, when users do a :
$ yum install texlive
(we have a local repo here).
So I added this line in texlive.spec :
Obsoletes: tetex

Rails byte-range request support
Hi,
I''m trying to serve the iPhone a video file from my controller using
send_file. However, it appears as thought the iPhone requires byte-
range request support and rails doesn''t seem to support this.
If I give the iPhone a url that points to an actual file (i.e. it''s
served by my webserver nginx, instead of rails) it downloads and plays
it fine.
Here is the proof
