ubuntu packages patch
hi, For compiz ubuntu packages, I made some patchs to have a behavior of compiz nearer to metacity. All patch are made for compiz-0.3.6 and they are more hacks or draft than good fix, i hope they can help. http://gandalfn.club.fr/ubuntu/compiz-patch/90-fix-no-border-window-shadow.patch This patch fix white boxes instead of shadows for gnome-panel and other non-standard windows on AiGLX.

keybindings patch, gnome-keybinding-bridge and vignettes plugins
Hi folks, For ubuntu specs and for a better desktop integration of compiz, I made some patchs and plugins. Focus prevention is now in main stream, and really better can i made :) First the workspace and terminal keybinding patch. Since my last email I updated the patch. http://gandalfn.club.fr/ubuntu/compiz-patch/91-workspaces-terminal-keybindings.patch It adds the support for vertical

Keybindings trouble
I'm using the latest compiz-git (along with compcomm patches & ccsm) and I'm having troubles with some keybindings. It seems that compiz is somehow intercepting any shortcuts that I try to use that are Control +Alt+*OTHER*. For example, I have set in my xfce keyboard settings to lock the screen on Control+Alt+l, it works fine with xfwm4 and the last version of beryl, but it only

updating the AUTHORS file
Hey everyone, I like to get the AUTHORS file updated before the next release. I suggest that we add the name and email of anyone who contributed some piece of code to compiz. For people who have contributed such a significant piece of code that it can be considered an algorithm or some functionality (e.g. Mirco's sky dome support in the cube plugin or S?ren's plane plugin), that should

Problem with Logitech wireless keyboard EX110
I got a Logitech EX110 wireless keyboard and mouse set about a year or so ago, maybe more. The number pad on the keyboard stopped working after a while, so I complained to Logitech, and they sent me a new keyboard (actually, the whole set). I've had the problem on and off again a couple of times since then, but it usually only lasts a few days before all is well again. However, my son also

Better keybindings for move and resize
Hi, I'm attaching a patch that improves the keybindings for keyboard resize and move. In both cases, the action can now be cancelled by Esc, moving the window back to the position and size it had before the action was initiated. Furthermore, for the resize case, the keybindings now work more like metacity, in that when initiated, it starts with the cursor in the middle of the window. The

te( ) interactions and AIC model selection with GAM
Hello R users, I'm working with a time-series of several years and to analyze it, I?m using GAM smoothers from the package mgcv. I?m constructing models where zooplankton biomass (bm) is the dependent variable and the continuous explanatory variables are: -time in Julian days (t), to creat a long-term linear trend -Julian days of the year (t_year) to create an annual cycle - Mean temperature

compiz-scheme. Interactive prompt and example startup file.
Beyond the general work on compiz-scheme (new wrappings, hooks, code improvements, etc), I've added a few large new things: 1. Key bindings with modifiers. This lets you from any of your scheme files/interactive prompt bind an arbitrary key + modifier to an arbitrary scheme function. So you can define new Compiz behaviors and shortcuts on the fly. 2. An interactive prompt. This sets up a

Chi square value of anova(binomialglmnull, binomglmmod, test="Chisq")
Hi all, I have done a backward stepwise selection on a full binomial GLM where the response variable is gender. At the end of the selection I have found one model with only one explanatory variable (cohort, factor variable with 10 levels). I want to test the significance of the variable "cohort" that, I believe, is the same as the significance of this selected model: >

Gnome-terminal's backslashes look like Ws with a horizontal line through -- how to get a backslash?
Hello! I've just started trying gnome-terminal (instead of xterm) because of its "tabbing" facility. However, I note that with it backslashes appear something like a W with a horizontal line through it. Any known way to get a backslash to appear as a backslash? To see what I mean, use gnome-terminal with echo '\' in bash, ksh, etc. Regards, Chip Campbell

asterisk cli - vi keybindings ?
This might sound lika a "small" issu, but here it goes: I'm a long time unix user and my shell history usage and editing is configured to use vi keybindings; it's something that's already built into my fingers and using different bindings, like the arrow keys to fetch previous lines, really blows me !... :-( Is there any way to setup the asterisk cli to use such

R: lmer specification for random effects: contradictory reults
Dear Thierry, thank you for the quick reply. I have only one question about the approach you proposed. As you suggested, imagine that the model we end up after the model selection procedure is: mod2.1 <- lmer(dT_purs ~ T + Z + (1 +T+Z| subject), data =x, REML= FALSE) According to the common procedures specified in many manuals and recent papers, if I want to compute the p_values relative to

Compiz Fusion Release 0.5.2 is out!
Compiz Fusion Release 0.5.2 is out! This is the first development release of Compiz Fusion, the result of more than six months of work and polish. The first stable release, 0.6.0, will follow after the Compiz 0.6.0 release. Compiz Fusion is the result of a merge between the Compiz community plugin set "Compiz Extras" and the parts of the Beryl project that are independent of the

strange PREDICTIONS from a PIECEWISE LINEAR (mixed) MODEL
Hi Dears, When I introduce an interaciton in a piecewise model I obtain some quite unusual results. If that would't take u such a problem I'd really appreciate an advise from you. I've reproduced an example below... Many thanks x<-rnorm(1000) y<-exp(-x)+rnorm(1000) plot(x,y) abline(v=-1,col=2,lty=2) mod<-lm(y~x+x*(x>-1)) summary(mod) yy<-predict(mod)

Automated Fixed Order Stepwise Regression Function
Greetings, I am interested in creating a stepwise fixed order regression function. There's a function for this already called add1( ). The F statistics are calculated using type 2 anova (the SS and the F changes don't match SPSS's). You can see my use of this at the very end of the email. What I want: a function to make an anova table with f changes and delt R^2. I ran into

issues with Asterisk CLI
Hello, I have Asterisk 16.2 on Debian. In the Asterisk CLI, I would like to change 2 things: 1) change the keybindings for commandline editing (what in bash is called "readline" editing of the command line) The CLI is missing some very useful keybindings, and even worse, has misconfigured others, For instance, "ctrl"+"w" should delete the last word backward. But

lmer specification for random effects: contradictory reults
Hi All, I was wondering if someone could help me to solve this issue with lmer. In order to understand the best mixed effects model to fit my data, I compared the following options according to the procedures specified in many papers (i.e. Baayen <http://www.google.it/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CDsQFjAA

Ctrl-Alt-F? bindings broken under xen 3.0.3-142.el5_9.1 / 2.6.18-348.1.1.el5xen?
I am not sure what I did, but for some reason Ctrl-Alt-F? bindings are broken on 64-bit xen desktop machine (but not on my laptop (32-bit, no xen)). Both machines are (mostly) up-to-date and running CentOS 5.9. I rarely hop to different Virtual Consoles (eg Ctrl-Alt-F1 ... Ctrl-Alt-F7), but today I wanted to go to the main console to watch some kernel verbage (I was checking something with

ssh session output stalls
Hello, Is anyone else having problems with the ssh session output stalling when ssh'd to another system and the command is running via sudo and a pager is being used (e.g., more)? Too highly reproducible :( to date, all known occurrences have involved Centos 4.3 servers; makes no difference whether client is RHEL WS 4.3, Centos 4.3 or FC 5 or WinDoze. Makes no difference if terminal

polynomials REML and ML in nlme
Hello everyone, I hope this is a fair enough question, but I don’t have access to a copy of Bates and Pinheiro. It is probably quite obvious but the answer might be of general interest. If I fit a fixed effect with an added quadratic term and then do it as an orthogonal polynomial using maximum likelihood I get the expected result- they have the same logLik.
