Bonding and Xen
Does anyone has implemented this sucessfully? I am asking this because we are implementing Xen on our test lab machines, which they hold up to three 3com and intel Nics 10/100mbps based. These servers are meant to replace MS messaging and intranet webservers which holds up to 5000 hits per day and thousands of mails, and probably the Dom0 could not handle this kind of setup with only one 100mbps

Hello everyone, I got a question, I'm not new in the linux scene or even a geek, but I am confused about certain stuff regarding Bind, DNS stuff, or whatsoever, maybe it's a silly question. Anyway. About 3 years ago I hired a dedicated server in certain company, for hosting my site and some other sites, didn't work at all the plan I had, nevertheless I was using Redhat 9 or something

Permission question
Hello, We own a CentOS Server which hosts a few domains using Cpanel, however each host or domain has its own user and its own folder under /home, we want a separate user(newuser1) to have read and write privileges in all home's subdirectories so we can do some tasks remotely using WinSCP, that user is already in the sudoers group and the root login is disabled in SSH for security, but I

Configuring Login to access Samba
Hi, I'd like to use CentOS in my machines but I'd like to login using the same user/pass. Is it possible to configure KDM/GDM/whatever to check the user/password in my local samba. I would not want to create and mantain users in sync with a central passwd/shadow. Thanks. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Kerberos for authentication?
Greetings! Are there any plans of using Kerberos for authentication in addition to (or in place of) SSL certificates in Puppet? Kerberos provides mutual, cryptographically strong authentication. A number of different services are Kerberos-enabled (SSH, NFSv4 and HTTP are common examples), and thus use the same authentication mechanism system-wide. At our site, almost all services and users are

Setting a vampired Samba4 as RID Master
Dear All, I vampired a Samba4 from a Windows 2003 Server AD. My idea was to transfer all users and groups, then shutdown the Windows 2003 AD and promote Samba4 as Operations Master. I have been able to do so with the Infrastructure and Main Domain Controller roles but not with the RID role. Is there a hack or manual operation I can do to have a completely independent AD based on Samba4 that

how to define new folders ACL
Hi folks, I've a working samba 4.1 DC + a 4.1 member server, winbind and UID GID working I have all the shares on member server, and the UNIX permissions are set to 770 Administrator:DomainUsers. To rule other permissions I generally use the Security TAB ACLs. my problem is: when a user create a new subfolder only he can access to it (and no other from DomainUsers), unless I change the

SSH Compression - Block Deduplication
Hello, I did a search against the list archive and didn't see any comments on the topic of using deduplication as a compression algorithm. This is just a suggestion for the developers to think about. Block de-duplication is found in higher end WAN gear. The idea is to mantain an indexed dictionary of data blocks. If a matching block is found prior to transmission, a token (hash id)

[lldb-dev] Trying out lld to link windows binaries (using msvc as a compiler)
-lldb-dev, +llvm-dev lldb-dev is specifically for the llvm debugger, and llvm-dev is for everything else (including lld) Did you compile the object files with clang and use -mllvm -emit-codeview-ghash-section? It sounds like probably not. If you don’t do that /DEBUG:GHASH will indeed be much slower. I wonder if we should emit a linker diagnostic in this case On Fri, Jan 19, 2018 at 12:09 PM
