Split dns issues
We have internal DNS servers that will override the A record for selected hosts. Example mail.pdinc.us will have a different internal ip than external. This has always been a fine way to handle it as the zone files are for that specific host, and there have never been subdomains before. Now we want to just override the MX records for pdinc.us without having to merge or manage all the records for

VPAT for centos 7 - section 508compliancestatement
let me chase that up, I dont really understand what a VPAT might be, looks to be US centric - but it also looks like it aims to make assertions on and from the CentOS project side. best to work it via the board first. Can I get some recommendations: We are looking for a hosting provider (other than godaddy) with 1: SLA 2: SSH access 3: subversion/rsync or the ability to install binaries / compile source. Sso the Linux way?
So I was googling around about this over the last week and here is what I found: nis/yp is for some reason bad. Kerbos is holy, but no how-to's that don't involve windows and active directory. What is the recommended sso approach for centos? Where are there examples / docs to follow? Jason -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- -

Procmail recipie to forward via smtp
I was in a hurry to forward email to our internal exchange server before my vaction, the best way I found after too much googling was to use http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/system/mail/smtpsend-1.02.tgz and :0 |smtpsend -to=user at pdinc.us -server=exchange Was there a way to do this without smtpsend? -Jason -- -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- -

ntpd
I am running a server inside of VMWare, and the clock gains ~30 seconds every 1000 seconds or 1.03X. I need to keep the drift under the magic 1000 limit that ntpd kills its self, but despite setting maxpoll really low I get: Dec 11 23:58:14 host ntpd[4909]: kernel time discipline status change 41 Dec 11 23:59:17 host ntpd[4909]: kernel time discipline status change 1 Dec 11 23:59:17 host

I would recommend RHEL for critical systems or those that must be certified for a particular purpose, such as CA servers.
