Trying to override MAC addr
I am trying to override the mac addr. Now this is on an armv7 actually running the F19 kernel and Redsleeve 6, but it SHOULD be standard Centos6 ifcfg-eth0 content. Of course RSEL does not start with a ifcfg-eth0 file, letting network services do all the work, so I am starting from scratch, using the file from one of my C6 boxes with static addressing. My file has in it:

Dedicate Nic''s to DomU''s
Hey all I''m new to Linux and Virtualizing. I''m trying to dedicate my nic''s to each virtual server. For instance, virt server A would use nic1 and virt server B would use nic2 and so on. I''ve been reading some stuff for this list and to tell you the truth I''m a bit overwhelmed. We are going to run SLES10.1 and Xen. I would appreciate any assistance.

Network config module won't work. -Mac address errors
Hello, I created a module for modifying the base network settings on a machine. However no matter what changes I make it keeps giving me the error "has different MAC address than expected, ignoring" when the network tries to startup. I am testing this out on the puppet learning VM. Does anyone see anything wrong with my code: init.pp -------------------------- define basehost

How to set macaddr with nmcli
I see my problem.? I mis-read what nmcli con mod eth0 mac "02:67:15:00:81:0B" does.? It sets HWADDR; which interface to link to, not MACADDR, what MAC address you want for your interface. So I have read the nmcli pages and googled a bit.? I cannot find a way to set MACADDR.? I suppose I can set HWADDR then use sed to change it to MACADDR, but this seems a real hack. ARM boards do

Setting up virtual ''ethX'' devices in Xen 3.4
Hi all, Up until now, we''ve been using Xen 3.0 on CentOS 5.x. Under this setup, dom0 was given a virtual ''ethX'' with the original ''ethX'' (now ''pethX'') IP address. Under this older config, neither ''pethX'' or ''xenbrX'' had an IP address. The logic was to keep traffic from the domU''s, through

loopback network device
Hi all, It's possible to create an alias of a device? Something like a device loN that all it's traffic is send to ethN, so ethN and loN are equivalent. It's for a bridged setup, i'm not trying to setup another IP on a device. Thanks! Jordi -- ...................................................................... __ / / Jordi Prats C E / S / C A

eth0 & eth1 changing every boot
This is probably a stupid question, but I''m stumped. Practically every time my firewall boots (not often, but still) eth0 and eth1 exchange places (internet and intranet). How do I lock them down? SuSE 9.2, Shorewall 2.2.3. Thanks! Mike- -- Mornings: Evolution in action. Only the grumpy will survive. -- Please note - Due to the intense volume of spam, we have installed site-wide

error rsyncing large file
Trying to rsync a rather large file from a windows server to a centos server and all but this is working fine. As it's a 20 gig file I am trying to send the diff of with a -c, I suspect over the low bandwidth this presents an issue. I also stage this file locally on another centos server and could calc the diff and create a patch and send that, comparing checksums etc... A quick look at
