anyone care to helop with a fail2ban problem on Centos 5.8?
I've got an up-to-date Centos 5.8 and can't seem to get fail2ban to
get rid of troublesome sshd login attempts. /etc/fail2ban/jail.conf
has these sections:
[ssh]
enabled = true
port = ssh
filter = sshd
logpath = /var/log/auth.log
maxretry = 6
# Generic filter for pam. Has to be used with action which bans all ports
# such as iptables-allports, shorewall

R Aerodynamic Package(s)?
By any chance is anyone aware of any R Packages that contain or expand the aerodynamic capabilities mentioned on the following website?
http://www.aoe.vt.edu/~mason/Mason_f/MRsoft.html
Typically I know R packages have focused on extending the statistical and graphing capability within R, so I was just curious if there might be a package that contains some aerodynamics.
If by chance there

[RFC] CCing MAINTAINERS on patches by default?
With the numbers of patches flying around it can be a bit hard for a
maintainer to spot patches which (s)he is expected to comment on / deal
with, especially now that we have a larger number of maintainers of
varying subsystems etc.
I think it might be time to start asking patch submitters to CC the
maintainers of the code they are touching, based on the MAINTAINERS
file.

Power Management under Nouveau
Hello,
I would like some clarity from the developers on the state of power
management for nouveau. I have recently acquired a Dell XPS 15 (2017)
9560 with:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation Device
[8086:591b] (rev 04)
01:00.0 3D controller [0302]: NVIDIA Corporation Device [10de:1c8d] (rev a1)
There seems to be contradictory information online with Arch Wiki

VGA passthrough and nvidia optimus
Hi
Is VGA passthrough with an nvidia optimus laptop remotely feasible? For
those who don''t know, nvidia optimus is two hardware cards, connected to the
same display. One sandy bridge setup (I use the intel driver for this), and
one nvidia card. I have a laptop with this setup, and usually I''m using only
the intel card. I then use acpi_call to power down the nvidia card.

CR repo update disaster for my desktop.
I have a centos 7.5 desktop workstation with dual nvidia graphic cards running three monitors. I use the i915 motherboard graphics adapter for the third monitor with bumblebee to work the magic to enable the three contiguous work spaces.
I use the kmod nvidia drivers for the two graphics cards. This has worked without a hitch for 5 months until this weekend.
I enabled the CR repo and did the yum

Yeah, we shouldn't let the machine die. Are there more WARN_ON_ONCE
usage we could convert to WARN_ONCE?

SAMBA installation problems
Dear samba developpers,
my name is Andrea and I'm trying to use your SAMBA program on my Silicon
Graphics INDY work station. I've visited your web site and I've downloaded
the 'samba53.2.0.6.tardist' file which (for what I understand) should
contain everything I need for the Operative System version 5.3.
I've untared (from the italian 'starare', which means
