RFS: xen-qemu-dm (new package)
Hi,
I believe the package is ready:
http://ftparchive.gplhost.com/debian/pool/lenny/main/x/xen-qemu-dm-3.4/xen-qemu-dm-3.4_3.4.2-1.dsc
I asked Ian Jackson to sponsor it (he works for Citrix and is a DD), but
it's been 2 weeks, and he seems busy with work.
I'd be glad if someone was sponsoring the upload of this package in
Debian SID, soon enough so that people will be able to test it

Bug#562703: qemu-dm missing from xen-utils-3.4
I tried using

Woohoo! Windows Server 2008 RC2 on Xen 4.0
Surely you hear plenty about what''s not working, so I thought I''d shoot
a quick message on something that did work. I got Windows Server 2008
RC2 installed. I have yet to even activate it and prove all internal
features/devices work, but installation alone satisfied me! I had to
fight a couple issues and I''ll mention them here, i think they''d be

HVM support to be removed from Debian Squeeze: call for volunteers
[message cross posted to the pkg-xen and xen-devel list]
Dear everyone,
Bastian Blank - which is the person (among others, but mainly him) that
is packaging Xen in Debian -, has decided last summer that he doesn't
want to deal with the qemu-dm of Xen, thus removing Xen Qemu and support
for HVM in Debian. Here is what he wrote:

Improving xen-qemu-dm-4.0 dependencies
Hi,
When I first built my Debian package, I needed to depend on qemu-system
| qemu, since there was no other ways to pull needed BIOS files.
It seems the situation changed, and that I could depend on less stuff
from the qemu package. Maybe only the package named "etherboot" and
"vgabios". To do that, my plan is to simply package a folder named:
/usr/share/xen/qemu

Abnormal memory usage of dom0 under Squeeze leading to crash
Hi,
We normally run Lenny dom0 with 384 MB of RAM in our production server.
But as we did few trials with Squeeze, I had the very bad finding that a
Squeeze dom0 requires at least 1024 MB of RAM. As soon as I do something
like "xm mem-set Domain-0 800", my server crashes: OOM starts killing
processes, starting with sshd, then mdadm and so on, then the server
reboots by itself. This

Fwd: [Xen-announce] Xen Security Advisory 19 - guest administrator can access qemu monitor console
Hi everyone at the security team,
I'd like to upload an update of xen-qemu-dm-4.0 in Squeeze. Below is the
Xen Security Advisory as I received it, attached is the patch that they
provided. Both the debdiff and the updated packages are available in here:

Please allow me to upload this fix. If you wish, I can prepare a DSA as

I used what was in the Git at:

The clone was made about a month ago, and it would be hard for me to
tell when exactly. Adding

Last round of XCP bug squashing in Debian Wheezy, before the release
Hi,
I've been trying to fix several bugs in XCP, before the Debian 7
release. It's not bug free yet, but it's going into that direction. I
would need some help to fix the remaining!
1/ The new 1.3.2-12 release
The Debian release team has already accepted an unblock for this new
version that I uploaded in Debian SID. Here's the debian/changelog:

Bug#686199: unblock: xen-api/1.3.2-11
Package: release.debian.org
Severity: normal
User: release.debian.org at packages.debian.org
Usertags: unblock
Hi,
Please unblock package xen-api.
The PAM fix which we did for version 1.3.2-10 wasn't correct, and thanks to
the help of Steve Langasek, we have it in a good shape now.
The details of the conversation is available in the Ubuntu BTS here:

HyperVM has some big vulnerabilities and we don''t know if they will be

Bug#674161: Fix for #674161
Hi Mike and Dave,
Could you please produce a patch so that we can fix #674161? I believe I
should be able to get a freeze exception, but please do not wait too
long until fixing.
Also, please pull the debian-sid branch from Alioth, which has all the
fixes I could find in the BTS.
Cheers,

Development forever
Hallo, Peter. Cheers, developers!
I'd like to join this effort, in case i'll useful with my crazy stuff.
First of all, please consider subscribing this ML to Gmane interface.
It would be great! Especially, if you will provide full-text archives
for importing. (All that web archives suck, you know. Small and big
archives are most easily handled with news server/reader.)
Secondly. Did you

snmp mrtg physCPU
Hallo xenusers,
I search a simple variant to generate CPU,Load for MRTG.
Actually I use following configuration.
But I see CPU-usage of xen0 only, not a summary of all VM.
- net-snmp does not support xen [1].
- dtc-xen [2] show CPU-usage from each VM, but not summary.
This view is confusing. [3]
For monitorings from more than 3 physical machines unpractically.
- enomalism [4] is too large
