I want up-to-dateish versions of TexLive, R, gnumeric, emacs, but on a more-or-less stable base of Centos-5.2. I asked for packages in this, but got no answers. This is about LaTeX install and not about R. My problem was multiple installations of LaTeX: first using MacTex, then newer version using texlive. I had also tried to install then uninstall using MacPorts. It seems MacPorts uninstall was not clean. I had to manually delete several sym links.
