Bug#466683: xenstore-utils: The package description doesn't say what the utilities contained in the package are for.
Package: xenstore-utils Version: 3.2.0-3 Severity: minor Description: Xenstore utilities for Xen This package contains the Xenstore utilities. I would hope that there would be a more descriptive description for this package, so I could know if I really need it. (Yes, I'm a newbie to the world of XENU ... I suppose I would already know if I wasn't new to this.) -- System Information:

Bug#466683: libxenstore3.0 could use a better description too

This applies to libxenstore3.0 as well, which includes a description similarily low on information: > Xenstore communications library for Xen

Non-root can create, but not delete, btrfs snapshots?
Hi! I noticed that a non-root user is able to create (but not delete) snapshots of a root btrfs filesystem on kernel 3.4.0. I''m not sure I understand the security model correctly, but letting unprivileged users create snapshots of the entire filesystem seems... wrong. Is this intentional? ------------------------------------------------------------ ~/test$ ls -la total 0 drwxr-xr-x 1

Bug#644125: xenstore-utils has completely inadequate description
Package: xenstore-utils Version: 4.0.1-2 all it says is: "Description: Xenstore utilities for Xen This package contains the Xenstore utilities." Wow, i never would have guessed that a package called xenstore-utils might contain Xenstore utilities. I'm glad that's cleared up! that just leaves a few tiny, niggling questions: 1. WTF are the Xenstore utilities? 2. What are

Number of hard links limit
Hi, There''s been discussion before on this list on the very small number of hard links supported by btrfs.[1][2] In those threads, an often asked question has been if there''s a real world use case the limit breaks. Also it has been pointed out that a fix for this would need a disk format change. As discussed in bug #15762 [3], there are certainly real-world use cases this

Kohonen's SOM in R?
Is there an implementation of the SOM ('Self Organizing Map') procedure in R ? I am aware of the implementations of Sammon mapping, multidimensional scaling and, somewhat peripherally, principal curves and projection pursuit .. but not SOM per se as far as I can see. Am I missing something? --------------------- for anyone interesed in SOM I found Samuel Kaski's thesis
