PATCH: Port equalloudfilt.m MATLAB to scilab
Although the script doesn't generate identical results, it seems to get fairly close. The deviations for the Butterworth filter settings seem larger than for the equal loudness filter. This script requires OpenSource scilab which is available for Windows, Linux and MacOS. http://www.scilab.org/products/scilab/download Earl -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was

Here is an except BIOCEP is built on top of R and Scilab and anything that you can do within those environments is accessible through BIOCEP. Here is what you have uniquely with this new R/Scilab-based

[LLVMdev] GSoC 2012 proposal : Integrate Baggy Bounds Checking into SAFECode
Dear LLVM developers: Here is my another proposal of LLVM. Any suggestion would be welcome! * ** * *** Integrate Baggy Bounds Checking into SAFECode*** * * *Abstract:** * Baggy Bounds Checking (BBC) is an efficient bounds checking technique that pad and align objects to powers of two and enable allocation bounds. It uses a contiguous array as bounds table to enable

need help with installRExcel()
Struggled a whole day, but still could not get DCOM working on my machine. What I did is: 1. Installed R 2.8.1 under folder "../R/R-2.8.1" 2. Installed R_Scilab_DCOM3.0-1B5 under folder ".. \R\(D)COM Server" 3. Installed packages: rscproxy_1.0-12, RExcelInstaller_3.0-10, rcom_2.0-4... 4. run the following commands: library(rscproxy) library(rcom)

How to run Wine after installing libgl1-mesa-glx?
When I could not plot by SciLab I installed Xorg-Edgers video. And WineHQ worked normally. WineHQ can't start after I installed the library libgl1-mesa-glx ( a workaround of the bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/scilab/+bug/876195 ) and reverted to official Xorg by the command "sudo ppa-purge xorg-edgers": user at Notebook:~$ wine bash: /usr/bin/wine: 5B B0:>3>

Release of optimbase, optimsimplex and neldermead packages
Dear R users, I am pleased to announce the release of three new R packages: optimbase, optimsimplex, and neldermead. - optimbase provides a set of commands to manage an abstract optimization method. The goal is to provide a building block for a large class of specialized optimization methods. This package manages: the number of variables, the minimum and maximum bounds, the number of non linear

Bug#496367: The possibility of attack with the help of symlinks in some Debian packages
Package: xen-utils-3.2-1 Severity: grave Hi, maintainer! This message about the error concerns a few packages at once. I've tested all the packages (for Lenny) on my Debian mirror. All scripts of packages (marked as executable) were tested. In some packages I've discovered scripts with errors which may be used by a user for damaging important system files or user's files. For

OT: R for iPhone/iPad OS?
No, seriously: I've had more than one person at work wonder what math toolset could be loaded onto iOS. So, before Matlab, FreeMat, Mathematia, SciLab, Octave, or numpy (:-) ) produces a version for iPad, any chance someone is working on R for iPad?

logarithmic seq() ?
Hello, in scilab /Matlab there are functions that can create linear sequences (like R's seq()) as well as logarithmic sequences. Is there a logarithmic aequivalent of seq()? Or maybe this would be an idea for newer R-releases, maybe a type-option with "linear" and "logarithmic" as parameters....?! Ciao, Oliver

matrix conformity with matrix 1x1 and scalars
Hello, I am calculating this thing with vectors (b) and matrices (G,P): b'G/sqrt(b'Pb) where the denominator is a quadratic form and therefore always a scalar. In Scilab, it is quite simple: b'*G/sqrt(b'*P*b) However, in R, the denominator is an (1x1)matrix and R claims it is non conformable and I have to use drop() or as.numeric(). Like this: > b = 1:2 > G=diag(1,2) >
