Bug#536176: xen-utils-3.4: trying xen-3.4 once breaks xen-3.2 (?)
Package: xen-utils-3.4 Version: 3.4.0-1 Severity: critical Justification: breaks unrelated software After installing xen-utils-3.4 besides my existing xen-3.2 system, I could not start xend-3.2 anymore. The message I was getting is this: "Failed to initialize dom0 state." As far as I know, xen 3.2 and 3.4 are supposed to be able to live peacefully on the same system. (The

Can someone explain why smbmount under Samba-2.0.3 (compiled under GNU/Linux Slackware, kernel 2.2.5, egcc 2.90.29) compiles smbmount, however, when I run smbmount, it's really smbclient? If I can't use smbmount, then I can't mount my NT server. smbsh isn't worth crap, it always segfaults on me. I'm running libc5.5.46. Can anyone help me? "There are 3 things to remember

Task: To generate HTML output from R Details: I am trying to serve up HTML output from R. That is analyses or table of data from R saved as HTML output with formatted tables etc. This file is then called in a CGI script to output to user browser. The CGI script inspired by Mark J. Ray reads the HTML output, formats the header and footer and any graphic output if necessary. My question is: Has

[RESEND] Xen 3.0.3 for Etch
Hi folks Upstream forked a 3.0.3 tree a week ago. I hope they will release it in the next two weeks. I think it will be a good idea to release this with Etch. This may be also a good target as RHEL5 will also release with Linux 2.6.18 (we use their xen patch for the kernel already) and Xen 3.0.3. My current plan is: - Upload 3.0.3-testing with version 3.0.3~rc1+hg$revision and abi 3.0.3-rc1. -

GAMS and Knots
Hi I was wondering if anyone knew how to work out the number of knots that should be applied to each variable when using gams in the mgcv library? Any help or references would be much appreciated. Thanks Kathryn Baldwin

create block diagonal with each rows
Dear R users, I'd like to create a block diagonal matrix with each rows in a matrix. Here is a simple example. (In fact, the matrix is big) x <- matrix(1:20, 4,5) > x [,1] [,2] [,3] [,4] [,5] [1,] 1 5 9 13 17 [2,] 2 6 10 14 18 [3,] 3 7 11 15 19 [4,] 4 8 12 16 20 With each rows in matrix x, I'd like to make the matrix below.

getting values out of functions
Hi there, Just wondering if there's a way to get a value you've assigned within a function, out of the function? For example, function () { testing <-read.table("...",header=TRUE) } I want to be able to use 'testing' outside of the function, so be able to call ls() and testing be there... Any ideas? Thanks! matrix manipulation with its rows
Dear R users, I have a question about matrix manipulation with its rows. Plz see the simple example below sample <- list(matrix(1:6, nr=2,nc=3), matrix(7:12, nr=2,nc=3), matrix(13:18,nr=2,nc=3)) > sample [[1]] [,1] [,2] [,3] [1,] 1 3 5 [2,] 2 4 6 [[2]] [,1] [,2] [,3] [1,] 7 9 11 [2,] 8 10 12 [[3]] [,1] [,2] [,3] [1,] 13 15 17 [2,]

[PATCH 1/4] virtio_net: Fix skb->csum_start computation
From: Mark McLoughlin <markmc at redhat.com> hdr->csum_start is the offset from the start of the ethernet header to the transport layer checksum field. skb->csum_start is the offset from skb->head. skb_partial_csum_set() assumes that skb->data points to the ethernet header - i.e. it computes skb->csum_start by adding the headroom to hdr->csum_start. Re move repeated values
Dear R users, I'd like to make this data rem.y = c(-1,0,2,4,5) from y = c(-1,-1,0,2,2,2,2,4,4,5,5,5,5,5). That is, I need to remove repeated values. Here is my code, but I don't think it is efficient. How could I improve this? #------------------------------------------------------------------------ y = c(-1,-1,0,2,2,2,2,4,4,5,5,5,5,5) n=length(y) for (i in 1:n) #
