llvm-cov accepting many binary files for aggregated coverage reports
Hi All, I want to provide a solution that presents code coverage reports that include the aggregated code-counts across many binaries. Our test engineers currently do this using gcov-mode by merged .gcda data files. We can do a similar merge of the .profraw files, so that the many binaries are represented in one .profdata file; However, llvm-cov will only generate reports based on one binary at

Help understanding rsync and cwrsync
Hi all, we are just beginning to dive into rsync. I have limited experience with just playing around with the examples and reading all the docs that I can. I just read an interesting post from a developer that mentions cwrsync is a minimalistic rsync and thus things like permissions are not transfered, the post was from 2004. Here are my questions Windows (cw)Rsync Client --> Linux Rsync

Disparity in listing files and searching
Hello All, I have a minor issue that is vexing me. Here is some important information... The server is running Red Hat 7.2, with EXT3FS for the underlying file system and Samba 2.4.STABLE7 and is acting as a PDC. The system has far more RAM, CPU Power and Hard drive space then is really needed. So, I doubt the issue I am experiencing is related to hardware issues. I believe that

broken mdboxes
Hello, I was forced to do an emergency server migration with about 3000 mailboxes and I botched it somewhat. Hoping to find some help here. My symptoms are, users showing apparently deleted mail messages, some replicated mail, and a time period of mail that is just 'missing'. The source server is centos 6.10 with dovecot 2.2.5, and the destination is ubuntu 16 / dovecot 2.2.22. User

Drive problem
I was rsync'ing data from one system to another, and the recipient suddenly started throwing DRDY errors. Now, it's a fairly new WD Red 3TB, and I'd think it was just a bad drive... but I'm really confused by this, from the logs: Jun 15 15:34:43 <servername> kernel: ata3: SError: { Dispar } Dispar? And googling, every reference I find to that word always has something else

du vs df size difference
Hi all, Curious issue.. looking in to how much disk space is being used on a machine (CentOS 5.3). When I compare the output of du vs df, I am seeing a 12GB difference with du saying 8G used and df saying 20G used. # du -hcx / 8.0G total # df -h / Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/xvda3 22G 20G 637M 97% / I recognize that in most cases du and df

Clarifying CUPS Printing
We have been using CUPS to handle printing and have run into some "features" some of which a fresh install of the responsible server will probably fix. However there are some disparities between the documentation and our practical experience for which a clear statement would help others. The docs state when using CUPS the relevent lines of SMB.CONF should look like this: printing=cups

Volume of patches for CentOS vs Fedora
I'm trying to come to a decision between CentOS 4.2 and Fedora Core 4 for use on a server. One of the things the server will be serving is X desktops so there are some advantages to Fedora. However, one thing I can't help but notice is that the patch volume for FC4 from Oct 11 2005 thru the present compared to CentOS 4.2 for the same period is about 5 times greater. In fact, since

[LLVMdev] sys::path::system_temp_directory vs. sys::fs::createTemporaryFile
Hi, all. I noticed recently that llvm::sys::fs::createTemporaryFile does not use llvm::sys::path::system_temp_directory, instead relying on its platform-specific helper TempFile. Is there any reason for this disparity? The two implementations are not in sync, either: - TempDir honors TMPDIR, TMP, TEMP, TEMPDIR, and a configuration-settable P_tmpdir on Unix-y systems. system_temp_directory just

pyramid.plot in plotrix, axis labelling
Hi, I've been looking at ways to make pyramid plots in R. I like the pyramid.plot method in plotrix as it seems the simplest to use and building them in ggplot looks a bit more code intensive than I'd like, being as I'm new to R. This package does pretty much what I need it to do, however I can't seem to scale the x axis labels. The other labels scale fine with labelcex. I

R/octave/matlab etc.
I'd echo a lot of what has been said about this by the folk who have been making R work so well. One of the main difficulties is that the environment of computations affects relative performance. e.g., what settings did a distro package builder choose. I note that my 3 GHz Dual Core machine running Ubuntu 8.04 gets octave 3.0.0 octave:6> tic; a = a + 1; toc Elapsed time is 0.120027

Dos clients on Samba 3.0.12
Hello there, I recently replaced a server running Samba 2.x with a brand new one running Samba 3.0.12. I had a couple DOS machines running the Microsoft Client which worked fine on the old server. On the new one, they can log in fine, and do a "dir" on the remote drive, but when I try to copy a file to or from the server, the DOS machine hangs, and on the server I get a

Subsetting a data frame vs. subsetting the columns
Hi all, There seems to be rather a large speed disparity in subsetting when working with a whole data frame vs. working with just columns individually: df <- as.data.frame(replicate(10, runif(1e5))) ord <- order(df[[1]]) system.time(df[ord, ]) # user system elapsed # 0.043 0.007 0.059 system.time(lapply(df, function(x) x[ord])) # user system elapsed # 0.022 0.008 0.029
