Help on R performance using aov function
Hi, I?m trying to replace some SAS statistical functions by R (batch calling). But I?ve seen that calling R in a batch mode (under Unix) takes about 2or 3 times more than SAS software. So it?s a great problem of performance for me. Here is an extract of the calculation: stoutput<-file("res_oneWayAnova.dat","w"); cat("Param|F|Prob",file=stoutput,"\n");

Sharing RAM between VM
Hi, all! I have a server with 4 virtual machines ( using xen). Is there a way to make them share RAM? I found out something about balloons, but it didn't distribute RAM dynamically. So I decided that xen can't achieve that. I tried luci and ricci and now all my VMs are in a cluster. But I don't think this actually helped. Can you suggest a software and/or manual or a question which I

naive question regarding running parallel C code from R
Hi, I have only the vaguest notions of what parallel programing, but I think I have a situation where it might be of use to me, or at least provide me with the opportunity to learn more about it. Before I invest in figuring out the nuts and bolts, can anyone confirm that this is a sane approach, or provide alternatives that I could pursue? I'm running stochastic simulations, with the actual

ssh argv[0] support
Right - I know you've had a discussion about the argv[0] stuff already, but I've written this simple script to simulate the (now missing) support for Debian, and was asked to send it to you... --- ssh-argv0 --- #! /bin/sh -e if [ "${0##*/}" == "ssh-argv0" ] then echo 'ssh-argv0: This script should not be run like this, see ssh-argv0(1) for details'
