How to get remote access to domU console using VNC?
Hi all, I installed a paravirt CentOS 5.4 domU on a CentOS 5.4 dom0 environment. I compiled the domU kernel with framebuff console. But I couldn’t using VNC to connect to the domU console. Cannot access printing setup using VNC
Hi all, I try to VNC to my Centos4.2 located in remote branch office. When I try to open System Setting > Printing. It ask for root password as usual, I enter the password, OK, then nothing. The printing setting menu doesn't show. Is there any setting I must do to be able to run printing setting using VNC? Thanks. -- Fajar Priyanto | Reg'd Linux User #327841 | Linux tutorial

Keyboard problems with VNC access
Hi, I am pretty new to libvirt, but have succeeded in setting up two VM's, Windows 10 and ClearOS (a Centos derivative) and they both have the same issue. I have installed both of them with a UK English keyboard, but the host machine is remote and in the US with a US locale. When I access either through VNC (I've tried TightVNC and VNC-Viewer), a number of my keys don't map

Remote access to domU console using vnc
I have an FC6 dom0 running on a headless server. I want to install a CentOS 4.4 domU with a console accessed using vnc from a remote machine. I *think* I should be able to do this from my understanding of the documentation. I''ve configured a domU to boot from an ISO image to do the CentOS install and run xm create. netstat on dom0 shows there''s a listener on 0.0.0.0:5900, but

XEN 4.2.2: How to enable vnc-tls to make vnc sessions secure?
I am using XEN 4.2.2 source compile. Does XEN''s configure enable by default QEMU''s --enable-vnc-tls? After I start a guest, I don''t see on QEMU''s command line that it has started tls vnc ... In /etc/xen/xend-config.sxp we can find the option: (vnc-tls 1) After reading, I figured out that you must create /etc/xen/vnc and put certificates there? I also

Secure VNC access from iPad
Dear Gurus If any of you have been successful in using an iPad as a VNC client with SSH tunnelling, I'd love to know how it's done. I have tried using the iSSH application, but without success. I know that the server is accessible from a Windows client (using TigerVNC), via an SSH tunnel, so the server is properly configured. If you have a working example, please let me know what

VNC Questions
Fresh install of CentOS 5.4 (and my first experience with CentOS). Following install, the first thing I did was enable desktop sharing so that I can control this new 1U box from my Mac workstation. The VNC client sees this as "Warren's remote desktop" but I'd like it to be more meaningful, as I have other remote desktops. Where in the user settings/prefs do I change the way

VNC 'fix' for 256 colour game only shows 2 colours?
I'm trying to run an old (~1995) Windows game under Wine, but it requires 256 colours and won't work any higher. I've checked out the 256 colour hacks page and the X methods don't work, because I use the FGLRX drivers and they don't support 8bpp, so I'm trying VNC. I've installed vnc-server and vnc so I can play it through a 256 colour VNC connection, but so far I can

winbind and vnc revisited
A couple of days ago, I posted a question about using vnc with winbind users (i.e. users from a Win2k3 Active Directory domain being authenticated locally on a Linux box -- in this case Fedora Core 3 -- with winbind). The consensus seemed to be that it wasn't possible, at least with the free versions of VNC. Well, not so. Here's how I did it. First, I found out by accident (i.e. just

Hello, I want to install a 2003 guest on a Debian Etch with xen binary packages (apt-get install), but through a vnc console (no graphical interface). VNC-Server HowTo
Gerald and P.J., I just finished setting up VNC services following http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/VNC-Server and have a few comments. "2.3. Edit the server configuration" The last line should be corrected from VNCSERVERARGS[1]="-geometry 800x600" to VNCSERVERARGS[3]="-geometry 800x600" "2.4. Question about vnc connection password set to empty
Hello, everybody here I have a question about graphical buffers for rhel7. Thanks so much in advance who can give me some suggestions about that. When I try to do regression for bug859317(https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=859317) on RHEL7, I found that guest could be connected success with virt-viewer when set/update the graphics passwd to empty. But according to comment 2 in this bug,

vnc console from Mac
Hi, I''ve run into a problem, and no amount of Googling seems to help. I''m running Xen 3.4 and have the consoles of my DOMUs setup to be VNC. I can connect to them just fine from Chicken of the VNC etc etc. I cannot, however, connect using the built in vnc client using vnc://machine_name:59XX. I''m running os X 10.6.3 BTW Has anyone found a way around this? My end game
