Bug: xend-relocation-hosts-allow in xend-config.sxp
Comparing my last know working configuration with the current one, it appears to be gagging on the new localhost\.localdomain that is in the configuration file. I don''t know if this got added by my machine when compiling. diff -ur xen-3.0-testing.hg/install/etc/xen/xend-config.sxp xen-unstable.hg/install/etc/xen/xend-config.sxp --- xen-3.0-testing.hg/install/etc/xen/xend-config.sxp

Bug#477237: xen-utils-common: typo in /etc/xen/xend-config.sxp for xmlrpc configuration
Package: xen-utils-common Version: 3.2.0-1~bpo4+1 Severity: minor I use the version from backports, but it's still present in sid. In /etc/xen/xend-config-sxp : #(xen-tcp-xmlrpc-server-address 'localhost') #(xen-tcp-xmlrpc-server-port 8006) should be #(xend-tcp-xmlrpc-server-address 'localhost') #(xend-tcp-xmlrpc-server-port 8006) Small typo in a commented line, but

[PATCH][VT][1/15] Fix config file parsing for VMX domains.
Fix config file parsing for VMX domains. If we define "vif" in the config file, image.py will raise error "vmx: missing vbd configuration". The reason is "vif" is dealt with as a "vbd" device. This patch fixes this issue by dealing with "vbd" and "vif " separately, removing "macaddr" arg and parsing mac address from

Bug#441249: xen-hypervisor-3.0.3-1-i386-pae: "Problems using XEN when Quagga is running"
Package: xen-hypervisor-3.0.3-1-i386-pae Version: 3.0.3-0-2 Severity: normal If quagga is running, and I start & stop a domain, the VIF interface doesn't go down properly (in addition to other problems). Here's what I do: 1. Boot the computer. By default, quagga is running (zebra + ospfd). 2. xm create test7.cfg, wait until the domU starts. 3. xm shutdown test7, wait until the domU

xend-config.sxp implications with changes to network-bridge
With the change to network-bridge in changeset 9955, would it also be good to change xend-config.sxp to use: # (network-script ''network-bridge vifnum=1'') rather than # (network-script ''network-bridge netdev=eth1'') Should there also be more explanatory text? migrating from old config file format to sxp
Hi folks, is there a tool to convert a vm''s classic config file to sxp? I tried "xm create OLDCONF -n" and pasted the output in a config file at /var/lib/xend/domains/SOMEFOLDER/config.sxp, but that did not make virsh recognize the vm at all (although I restrarted xend, which helps for example after virt-clone). I am trying this on Xen4 using Debian6. Dirk

Password unused in vnc console
Hi folks, I''m updating my xen server from a dom0 on debian sarge, using a self compiled xen 3.0.4 and a kernel 2.6.16, to a standard debian etch using the deb packages xen 3.0.3 and kernel 2.6.18. On the old server, all my hvm machines use vnc console and a password is set into xend-config.sxp and it works nice. On the new etch server, with the same hvms and configuration files,

DomUs don''t shutdown with cpu-pinning configured
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello, since pinning the cpu cores to Dom0 and the DomUs the shutdown of the VMs doesn''t work anymore. When shutting down or rebooting a DomU the DomU just freezes after the shutdown process but won''t reboot or stop the DomU. The shutdown itself seems to be complete though. We can reproduce this problem on 4 different servers.

Xend crashes when it''s trying to create domU
Hi, every one: I had problem creating domU on diskless device by using xen-unstable. Following, please find out details. BTW, the same configuration works fine on device with hard disk (1) Xen, dom0 kernel and dom0 root file system are loaded/mounted over via eth0 (2) DomU root file system is created in a file-backed virtual block device(VBD). The file-backed VBD locates at some directory on

Bug#683170: Xend causing high CPU load - starting domU failing
Package: xen-utils-4.0 Version: 4.0.1-5.2 After clean upgrade from Lenny I got xend highly use CPU resources causing domU don't being created - due to timeouts for vifs and vbds (mostly CPU Steal Time was increasing - no iowaits). Tried Xen boot options acpi=noirq|ht without success. Option acpi=off solved that issue, but performance of the server was horrible. The final workaround was to

[PATCH] [Bug 936] Fix "cpus" in config.sxp
Hi, I fixed the Xen bugzilla 936. http://bugzilla.xensource.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=936 Currently, "cpus" output to config.sxp is the following form. Therefore _parse_sxp() cannot convert ''[1'' to integer. e.g. (cpus ''[1, 2]'') --- string This patch changes output form of "cpus". The form is as follows. e.g. (cpus (1 2))

network issue, RHEL4, lack of peth0/peth1 device
Hi! I''m not new to Xen but I''m new to this list. I''m having a truely bizarre problem with Xen bridged networking at the moment. This is a new install, on RHEL4. The symptom is that any domU set up simply fails to talk to anything else. It''s there, and running, and it has an ethernet device, but there''s never any response. After digging through the

Problems migrating xen domains
Hi. I've set up a cluster with two Debian 6 nodes, running Xen 4 and libvirt 0.9 (from backports). My VMs run over a DRBD resource, to allow live migration between the nodes. I've successfully tried live migration using xm migrate, now I'd like to make it work using virsh, but cannot make it. Here's the error I'm getting: # virsh migrate efw xen+ssh://10.22.22.152/ error:

openvswitch on xen 4.x
A huge thank you to mario from the ''openvswitch on Xen 4.1'' post. I was having some trouble with using openvswitch with Xen 4.1 (I''m currently migrating from 4.0.1) until I saw his post and noticed that the xl.conf needed the full path to the networking script. Made this change and all is good now. Thank you. I would like to contribute what I have for using
