HMV + linux no network interface
Hi,
I have installed xen 3.0.3 on gentoo 2006.1
The machine is a laptop with amd turion x2 ML-60.
I can boot into xen, xend stars normally.
When I try to boot a linux livecd using HVM, there is
no network interface (I used several different linux distributions).
It''s not a driver problem, since the hardware is not even
listed on dmesg log. While booting the livecd there is a

Xen from backports on sarge not working
Hi,
I've downloaded and installed the Xen packages from backports.org
in a box with sarge, and it doesn't work. That's the short story. Now the
long one :-)
The problem is that I can't bring up the domUs. This is the error
displayed when I try:
~# xm create -c chen.cfg
Using config file "/etc/xen/chen.cfg".
Error: Device 0 (vif) could not be connected. Hotplug

Xen 3.1 in unstable?
Hi,
I just happen to see that there are no Xen 3.1 packages in unstable as
of yet - even if 3.1 is released since a while now. There are the
Packages in Ralph's apt repository, but I wonder why there are no newer
packages yet.
This shouldn't be criticism, but two questions come up:
1) Is the reason that there are no newer packages that you need some
more help? Then I might be able to

using physical disks with HVM
Hi,
As a previous thread in
http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-users/2006-06/msg01111.html
tells, it should be possible tun run hvm domains with a physical disk.
There where other threads about this, but no solution for my current
problem.
When I try to use a disk defined as
disk = [ ''phy:data/faitest-client-generic-hvm-disk,ioemu:hda,w'']

Hardware compatibility - Dell Inspiron 6400 or thinkpad t60?
Hi,
Since a while I am curious to buy a machine with hardware virtualization
support. Finally, they start to become available here in Germany.
So, I want to get such a machine. I want to buy a dell inspiron 6400 or
an IBM thinkpad T60 which are said to have such a mobile processor with
hardware virtualization - does anybody have experiences with these?
Looking in the Hardware compatibility

Bug#406863: xenmon.py isn't in the execution search path
Package: xen-utils-3.0.3-1
Version: 3.0.3-0-2
For some reason, xenmon.py is not in the search path - maybe an issue
of the wrapper used by the xen Debian packages seems to be only a link
to the wrapper is missing the program exists in the package
xen-utils-3.0.3-0-2 and the follwoing make it work:
ln -s ../lib/xen-common/bin/xen-utils-wrapper /usr/sbin/xenmon.py

using Ubuntu's dom0 xen support for kernel >=2.6.24?
Hi,
After the discussions of the last week about the topic of dom0 support,
and being fairly sure there is no working solution in any distribution,
I've been shown a working dom0 with Ubuntu, with 2.6.24-20.
I actually did not believe this would work, and stated I'd not believe
it until seeing it - and I saw it some minutes later, Ubuntu 7.10
booting dom0 with 2.6.24-20.
No idea what

Xen and ACPI Sleep
Hi,
I am currently testing Xen on my laptop and was wondering if there was
any way to enable ACPI sleep so that I can resume sessions when I''m on
the go. Is this possible? If so, could you please highlight how to
achieve this? Thank you.

ctrl-c doesn''t work in domU consoles
Hey,
I''ve installed Xen 3.0 on a freshly installed Debian Sarge. dom0 is
working nicely (kernel 2.6.12.6-xen0). Then I created a domU, again with
Debian Sarge, booting Xen''s vmlinuz-2.6.12-xenU. Unfortunately ctrl-c
does not work in the domU''s console, neither if I create the domU
with "xm create -c ..." nor if I attach to it later. It doesn''t matter

Bug#372524: Lots of inaccurate information in /usr/share/doc/xen-utils-3.0/README.Debian.gz
Package: xen-utils-3.0
Version: 3.0.2+hg9681-1
Severity: normal
In the tls section: it fails to mention the better solution (apt-get
install libc6-xen)
In the kernel section: where it says "for now we cannot provide
precompiled Linux kernels with the xen patch applied", that's not true
either. apt-get install linux-image-2.6-xen-k7 or some such.

Disclaimer: I'm using the packages from www.backports.org here

too with the packages straight from sid.
When I installed the packages for Xen and created a domU
("chen.cfg"), it couldn't be brougth up. The error that was displayed

Your package fails to build with GCC 4.2. Version 4.2 has not been
released yet but I'm building with a snapshot in order to find errors
and give people an advance warning. The bug below is in your package
though and not because I'm using a snapshot of the compiler so please
take a look at it. You can reproduce this with the gcc-snapshot

Problem with 1.2 and sieve: failed with unsuccessful implicit keep
Hi,
First, thanks for this awesome piece of software.
I've just upgraded to latest dovecot, aka 1.2.
I've a problem. I've started using Sieve, and everything works fine, I
already received a thousand of mails without any problem.
However, there's one mail which is stuck in the postfix queue because of
that:
