Bug#475553: not fixable with current logcheck
tags 475553 wontfix thanks While I completely agree that this /should/ be fixed in logcheck, it can't be, since the logcheck rulefile format *sucks*, meaning /every/ rule would have to be extended to support both styles. I am sorry, but I have to mark this wontfix. I hope that one day, someone will get up and write logfilter, which I've started to draft on the wiki.logcheck.org page.

Cannot join domain
Hi, Samba V 3.0.25 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 PDC: NT 4 Domain. Server security = domain. I have a server (possibly 2) that cannot join the domain. I have tried from the linux server with 'net rpc join' and from the NT Box's Server Manager but it fails. The server appears in Server Manager although you can not get any additional info about it. The NT BOX's event viewer

About Xapian vs ElasticSearch
I was looking for performance comparisons. I just found this link (http://blog.inoi.fi/2010/10/migrating-from-xapian-to-elasticsearch.html <http://blog.inoi.fi/2010/10/migrating-from-xapian-to-elasticsearch.html>). This was write on 2010. Could someone comment it ? Is There some truth in what he said? I hate java, and didn?t want to back to java search engines...

msan test failures
I'm seeing some test failures for unit tests for msan (check-msan) happening in googletest, which I find weird. I'm on Arch Linux, with r342711. Below is one type of error that I see. The full log is 416MB (!) big. My guess is that those errors are related, but if anyone needs the full log, I'll provide it. Here is a reduced log from the end:

sfdisk -g support in DomU
Back in January there was a mail thread on this subject ( http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-devel/2005-01/msg00659.html ), however I see that blkfront still does not include ioctl support for disk geometry. So, any application that uses "sfdisk -g" to get the geometry of a partition, or disk, will fail when run in DomU. Is this a deliberate omission? Nick Logan

index location
Greetings. We are testing with 1.2.9 and have found that with mail_full_filesystem_access set to 'yes', we cannot force indexes for folders under ~/mail to be stored in /var/dovecot/indexes/%u. /var/dovecot/indexes/%u/.imap/INBOX/dovecot.index* is created just fine, but everything else ends up in ~mail/.imap. If I change mail_full_filesystem_access to 'no', then all indexes

Problem with compiling shared C/C++ library for loading into R (Linux)
I am using the .Call interface to call c++ code from R. For that, I am trying to create a dynamic library (mylib.so) using "R CMD SHLIB" by linking my own c++ code and an external c++ library (blitz++). The makefile works fine on my Mac, produces mylib.so and I am able to call .Call() from R, but on a linux server (I think Debian), I got the following error: ---------- /usr/bin/ld:
