dmesg and messages differences
Hi everyone. I just wondered what's the difference between /var/log/dmesg, and /var/log/messages? Why do we have 2 log files that are similar? Two asterisks on one machine
Hello friends, Can I run two asterisks running simultaneously on the same machine? I want one to run v1.0.2 for h323 ( which is an old and running production system ) and one for sip implementation. I wonder how it can be done since they will want access to the same ports and ip addresses. Does anyone know to do this or has done this before? Please share your experiences please.

A barrage of unexplained timeouts
We''ve been running unicorn-3.6.2 on REE 1.8.7 2011.12 in production for quite some time and we use monit to monitor each unicorn worker. Occasionally, I''ll get a notification that a worker has timed-out and has been re-spawned. In all these cases, when I look at the rails logs, I can see the last request that the worker handled, and they all have appeared to complete

I created an account on the Forums this morning, but I got an error saying they were having a problem sending e-mail. I sent a message to the webmaster and no response either. So I can't post to the forum until my account is activated. Are the forums new? By the amount of traffic on the list, this must be where most people resolved their problems. I am thinkgng about installing CentOS 4 on my

Problems installing windows 2003 std and x64 as guest
I am running Pentium D 930 with 2 gigs of ram. Fedora Core 6 with Xen enabled. I am able to start the install and it goes to the first stage of needing to be rebooted. I restart the Domain and it starts to finalize the windows install. And is fine until it starts asking for serial numbers or computer names. Then all of a sudden the guest freezes. The guest CPU goes to zero and so does the

Bug#535562: logcheck runs at normal I/O priority, and is hard-coded to nice -n10
Package: logcheck Version: 1.2.69 Severity: normal logcheck is a "batchy" job, but currently runs at normal I/O priority, and is hard-coded to run with a niceness of 10. As a result logcheck can degrade interactive performance on machines with a lot of log traffic, relatively slow CPU or expensive I/O. It'd be useful if the "ionice" and "schedtool" utilities
