Hi Olly and co,
On an Ubuntu 15.10, following the docs at

When
running debuild -e PHP_VERSIONS=5 -us -uc
I get (sorry for the French):

building rpy against lenny-cran
Hi.
On all of my machines, except for a netbook cursed with the GMA500
chipset, the R packages are synced to lenny-cran.
I have been using rpy in a chroot using the official lenny
R packages (2.7.1) given that i have not been able to find
compatible rpy deb packages to work with lenny-cran.
I am able to build the rpy deb package from source in
a 32-bit lenny chroot (with the stock R packages)

RV: About your driver NUTDRV_ATCL_USB(8) for install
Dear Charles,
Thanks for your quick reply, but I can't install nut_2.7.2 in my raspberry.
1) I create a [nut] directory and use wget to download three files:
[nut_2.7.2-1.dsc] [nut_2.7.2.orig.tar.gz] [nut_2.7.2-1.debian.tar.xz] 2)I
unpack:
dpkg-source -x nut_2.7.2-1.dsc
3) I use command
root at pi1:/nut/nut-2.7.2# debuild -us -uc .
..
And I have the following error code:

I think I may be of some help in this matter. Since I am running a
bunch of Raspberry Pi's with NUT and it took a lot of hacking to make
it possible. You could probably copy and paste this right into a
shell script and just run it ...
# Do an rpi-update FIRST to prevent USB strangeness
#some depencies from repo
sudo apt-get -y install m4 libtool libudev-dev automake

Python dependency in packages?
I apologize if this isn't the correct destination for these errors,
but I tried installing xen on my ubuntu (breezy badger) system via:
deb-src http://packages.debianbase.de/sources/xen3 ./
and then tried building locally via apt-get source xen.
The only problem appears to be the explicit python2.3 dependency in :
debian/rules
debian/libxen-python.install
a simple s/python2.3/python2.4/

questions about compiling Sieve plugin
I'm using the info on the wiki to try to compile the sieve plugin for dovecot
on a server running Debian Etch, but I'm getting nowhere because I'm stuck
trying to find the directory to use in the "--with-dovecot=" argument when
running the configure script. The wiki says:
Compilation is identical among the CMUSieve and the new Sieve plugin. Use
--with-dovecot=<path>

Help building dahdi for debian
Hi
I am in the process of installing a new box and using dahdi. I have a
tdm410 + hardware echo canceller.
I have just read in the read me for dadhi that VPMADT032 support has
been removed and unlike with the zaptel stuff i could just download and
install the firmware I can't with dahdi
what is the best way forward to recompile with hardware echo canceller
support.
Thanks

Creating a .deb file
Hi,
Does anyone have any appropriate debian control files so that I can create a
.deb package for FLAC? I don't want to just compile it and overwrite in case
it gets automatically overwritten by the Debian package management tools.
Cheers

debian package from svn / errors and non working debian rules
Hello,
I tried to build an debian package from svn. First I checked out trunk
and the 2.3.2 branch, which both build this quite "old" package :-)
icecast2_1.9+2.0alphasnap2+20030802-1_amd64.deb
Then I tried the kh branch, which doesn't build with dpkg-buildpackage:
debian/rules:6: debian/cdbs/1/rules/buildinfo.mk: No such file or directory

R 1.8 for debian
Hello,
I start running into problems with 1.7. due to packages which are only
supported by 1.8., therefore I tried to get 1.8. but synaptic only shows up
with 1.7.. Are there already debian 1.8 packages?
Another question would be, how I can keep all my previously installed
packages.
will they be kept in '/usr/local/lib/R/site-library or does the new R
overwrite these addional packages?
