Opening/closing a serial port is independent from the protocol used (no data

auth logging or auditing
Good morning! I compiled samba 4.10.8 from source in a slackware 14.2 machine and imported a samba classic domain from an ldap backend. Everything works flawlessly except for a couple of user who are getting their accounts locked out periodically. I'm trying to debug this problem so I modified the smb.conf file of the DC so that it looks like this # Global parameters [global] ??????? dns

Bestfortress driver, network serial patch for nut-2.0
Best fortress support was understandably dropped, but we still use them, and someone else may want the driver I ported to nut-2.0. We also often attach the serial cable from a UPS to a network terminal server, since servers these days don't come with very many serial ports. (They call them "legacy" ports.) I submitted a patch to support these for nut-1.x, and it was rejected

Battery runtime not displaying
Thanks for the help, with the apcsmart-old driver it works again! Didn't notice my UPS is now so "old" ;-) Here is the output of upsc with apcsmart-old driver: battery.alarm.threshold: 0 battery.charge: 100.0 battery.charge.restart: 00 battery.date: 11/22/06 battery.packs: 001 battery.packs.bad: 000 battery.runtime: 540 battery.runtime.low: 120 battery.voltage: 53.73

NFS
I've finally managed to run Dovecot without errors in two computers with maildir and indexes stored in NFS. I added a page to wiki about this: http://wiki.dovecot.org/NFS Suggestions how to keep attribute cache enabled but to allow Dovecot to specifically request not to use a cached value (when it's important) would be welcome. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text

[PATCH] virtio: harsher barriers for virtio-mmio.
We were cheating with our barriers; using the smp ones rather than the real device ones. That was fine, until virtio-mmio came along, which could be talking to a real device (a non-SMP CPU). Unfortunately, just putting back the real barriers (reverting d57ed95d) causes a performance regression on virtio-pci. In particular, Amos reports netbench's TCP_RR over virtio_net CPU utilization

[PATCH 3/4] drm/nouveau: Remove field nvbo from struct nouveau_framebuffer
The buffer object stored in nvbo is also available GEM object in obj[0] of struct drm_framebuffer. Therefore remove nvbo in favor obj[0] and replace all references accordingly. This may require an additional cast. With this change we can already replace nouveau_user_framebuffer_destroy() and nouveau_user_framebuffer_create_handle() with generic GEM helpers. Calls to nouveau_framebuffer_new()

get_ea_dos_attribute: Cannot get attribute from EA on file .: Error = No data available
Samba 4.12.1, single server with AD+DC on Ubuntu 18.04. Filesystem: /dev/sdb1 on /home type ext4 (rw,relatime,stripe=32750,data=ordered) It all work as expected, but I occasionally get the error in subject which denies access to shares. Restarting Samba will restore functionality. What can be the cause of this problem? Thanks. [2020/05/27 18:24:35.795379, 8]

Hello, I just upgraded to Network UPS Tools upsstats 2.6.4 on Debian wheezy and noticed that it does not show the battery runtime anymore, the field is simply empty. It used to work before with NUT 2.4.1. Does anyone know what could be wrong? I am using the apcsmart UPS driver. Thanks, M.L.

creating /etc/tinc directories in make install
Hi, I am curious why don't you guys create /etc/tinc directory, set permissions, add /etc/rc.d scripts etc. from the Makefile(s) in the source distribution ? Doing a make install and not finding an example config in /etc/tinc is kind of frustrating. Am I missing something? Maybe there is a good reason for that? Also, why is it not finding evp.h when I try to do configure? Is creating

[PATCH 0/2] virtio-blk: improve handling of DMA mapping failures
Two patches are handling new edge cases introduced by doing DMA mappings (which can fail) in virtio core. I stumbled upon this while stress testing I/O for Protected Virtual Machines. I deliberately chose a tiny swiotlb size and have generated load with fio. With more than one virtio-blk disk in use I experienced hangs. The goal of this series is to fix those hangs.
