Dear Arnaud,

This could be used for testing of setup of client upsmons.
I have to simulate a behaviour of a real UPS. The physical model

What is the sign of battery.current value?
I wonder if the negative number means charging or discharging.

Patch: upssched puts UPS name in the command line
Dear folks,
The patch in attachment allows upssched to put actual UPS name
into command line even if configuration contains wildcard (*).
E.g.
AT LOWBATT * EXECUTE "LOWBATT %s"
AT ONLINE ups3 EXECUTE "ONLINE %s"
where %s is replaced with UPS name before logging and execution.
A possible further enhancement could be if regular expressions
are also acceptable in place of

Threads
Dear folks,
I'm thinking about writing a multithreaded driver.
I wonder if library routines (like dstate_*) are thread-safe?

I wonder if

Or OB and OFF are mutually exclusive flags?

MGE MIB related bug
Dear folks,
According to mge-mib.c (NUT 2.6.2) LB condition
is gained from variable .1.3.6.1.4.1.705.1.5.14.0 (i.e.
upsmgBatteryLowBattery.0).
The test device of me does not set this variable to yes(1)
even if runtime drops below the preconfigured limit.
I complained about this at Schneider Electric.
They replied that low battery status is indicated by

repeater problem
Hi Arnaud,
I played a bit with dummy driver in repeater mode.
It is the concept what I need.
Unfortunately I found that if connection to another upsd gets broken
the driver does not try to repair it.

IAX2 channels denoted as '(None)'
I have some stuck channels that I think I'm going to have to bounce
Asterisk to get rid of, but am curious to know what they are and how
they've managed to accumulate. The show up with a channel identifier of
'(None)' as in the output below, and do not show up in the soft hangup
list, and so can't be cleared by that method. Here is the output from

WINS name resolution doesn't work
I've set up my Samba PDC to act as a WINS server, because I need remote
access to it (through a VPN connection). I put "wins support = Yes" into the
smb.conf file. As far as I know, WINS doesn't use a unique port number, so
enabling the usual NetBIOS ports (137/udp, 138/udp, 139/tcp) on the firewall
should be enough to make WINS work. I did this already.
I tried to connect to a

Remote Command Execution using jarapac,jcifs.etc.
Hi,
I need to install windows services remotely from linux. Given that the
windows server is running with minimum credentials. On reading hte previous
mails, I found that it is possible using jarapac, midlc, jcifs etc.
So I started with jcifs. I am able to transfer a file(service) from linux to
windows using jcifs API. Now I want to start that service. First I tried

UPS::Nut PERL module is rewritten
Dear folks,
I had to rewrite UPS::Nut because it was not developed since 2002
and it was based a very old version of upsd speaking a totally
outdated protocol.
If some of you interested in it you can get from my debian repository.
package name is libups-nut-perl.
Add this to your APT sources:
deb http://debian6.ki.iif.hu/ lenny contrib

samba group rights problem (Domain Admins not working)
Hi list,
after upgrading our ldap server, the Domain Admins group doesn't work
anymore.
Members of the domain admins group don't have any special rights on the
workstations (for example, they cannot even change the date of a machine in
the
domain anymore).
When I lookup the group members I get:

Excluding/removing row and column names on text output files
Dear R users,
I've had no joy finding a solution to this online or in any of my R books.
Many thanks in advance for any help you can give.
I'm seeking to output a data frame (or matrix - it doesn't matter which for
my purposes) to a .txt file, but omit any row or column names. The data
frame that I'm using doesn't actually have column or row names to start with

Windows XP Files Disapearing
When I mount a drive via Windows XP and copy a file via Samba, the file appears to be copied. When I refresh the window in Windows Explorer, however, it disappears! When I copy the *same* file a second time, Windows asks me if I want to *replace* the file (as if it were there but I just can't see it). I've attached the Samba drive to my Windows XP machine and I can see the file that I
