SSL test regression
While the changes to m4/nut_check_libssl.m4 have improved detection
of OpenSSL on Solaris, it breaks on platforms that did not have
pkg-config from the vendor.

OpenSSH 3.6.1p2 +UnixWare 7.1.1 +SSH2 + PasswordAuthentication no + PermitEmptyPasswords yes
Greetings,
I recently discovered a problem with OpenSSH 3.6.1p2 and UnixWare 7.1.1
(as well as OpenServer 5.0.X and SCO 3.2v4.2)
When I set up sshd_config as follows:
PasswordAuthentication no
PermitEmptyPasswords yes
and try to connect to a password less account ( I know its a F*up, but
that's the application ID10Ts .... ) I can get in using the SSH2 version
without a valid key, the

Availablity of OpenSSH on SCO Unixware 7.1.2
I have been asked to investigate the use of OpenSSH on some of our
systems.
These systems are running SCO OpenUnix ( Unixware 7.1.2).
Are you aware of any issues that may prevent me from using OpenSSH on
this version of SCO.
Thank you

Patch for UnixWare 7
Hi,
I have ported OpenSSH-4.0p1 to UnixWare 7.1.4. Can you please add the
following for UnixWare 7 in the configure script:
Description:
+ cross compiler produces i386a.out.
+ libcrypt which needs to come after openssl's libcrypto.
+ passwd needs user name.
Thanks,
Ahsan Rashid

X forwarding on OpenServer
Hi All,
I've been having issues getting X forwarding to work on OpenServer for OpenSSH versions 3.4p1 and 3.5p1. I have compiled OpenSSH on Redhat Linux 8.0, Solaris 8, and OpenServer 5.0.6, but the OpenServer box is the only one that exhibits the problem. I've detailed everything below.
I am using PuTTY for my ssh client under Windows. If I connect to the Linux or Solaris boxes, X

Daily snapshots...
All,
How can I get at the daily snapshots?
When I go to the website, www.openssh.com, and follow the Linux
link to portable.html and then go to request the daily snapshot from
http://bass.directhit.com/openssh_snap/, I get prompted for a user id
and password. Needless to say, I ain't got.
That's real useful. Use to be, I could get the snapshots from
the ftp site. Then things

3.4p1: 'buffer_append_space: alloc 10506240 not supported'
I have been trying to install 3.4p1 on a number of machines.
Servers on ia64 Linux, i386 Linux and SPARC Solaris are all working
like charms. On the other hand, I am having trouble at least with
HPUX 11, DEC OSF 5.1 and Unixware: on all those systems, sshd bails
out after authentication with an error in buffer_append_space.
Here is the output of sshd -d on the UnixWare machine

patches for UnixWare v2.x pty (misc.c,configure.in)
I have attached two patches to the current source code. The first
addresses the pty problems with UnixWare 2.x with connecting with
SSH2. It sets the sigaction to SA_RESTART. This fixes UnixWare v2.x,
but haven't heard any feedback as to effects on other OS'.
The first patch is against misc.c.
The second patch adds a section "*-*-sysv4.2uw2*" to configure to

Problems with sftp under SCO OpenServer
Hello,
I compiled OpenSSH 2.5.1p1 for SCO OpenServer 5.0.5, HPUX B.11.00, and
SunOS 5.7. When I sftp into the HP or Sun box, everything works fine.
However, whenever I sftp into the OpenServer box, all remote filenames
are shown as "(null)". File sizes, owners, etc. display properly. This
behavior is exhibited from all origination points.
OpenSSH was configured with identical

New snapshot
I have just uploaded a new snapshot to:

This snapshot includes Markus Friedl's new SSH2 RSA authentication work
and -R portforwarding for SSH2. Please give these a good test.
The new RSA authentications works similar to the current SSH2 DSA keys,
but requires a little modification to config files. Currently RSA

3.2.3p1 on OpenServer
Hi All,
I compiled the 3.2.3p1 source on SCO OpenServer 5.0.6. When a client connects to it now, they get stair-stepping everywhere. Issuing an stty sane resolves the issue for that login.
For bug 245 in 3.2.2p1, the call to setsid() is sshd.c was bypassed due to problems it was causing with Solaris. However, by allowing this method to be called, the stair-stepping goes
away.
Thanks,
Greg

I've built various versions of openssh on SCO OSR5.0.7 over the years
without much of a problem. Beginning with 5.5p1 however, I have been
unable to get a working install. I'm building with gcc 2.95.3. The
build completes normally, but 'make tests' fails on several tests:
